I wanted to post my experience: After several months of slapping the back of the TV in order to get the horizontal lines to go away, I finally took the TV down, and took the back off the set. I tightened every connector I could find, both the ones with actual connectors, and the ribbon connectors that are held by friction. I put the TV back together, and have not had a problem with it since then. If you're going to try this, make sure the TV is unplugged!
Replace the vertical ic,when your vertical ic is defective you can see the horizontal line across your screen

I know I have seen thin lines in the past on older CRT monitors, these are usually wires which support the aperture grill. LCD is just a panel so this must be something different. What color is the line? It is probably an error in the scanning process.

Disconnect the monitor from the computer and turn the monitor on
it will display a diagnostic colorbar are the lines still there.
if not they are likely a cable or video card.
if they are still there have a tech evaluate the monitor.

Line comes on at start up near the top of the monitor screen.
yea same with me, but i have 2
I have a multi colered line 3/4 the way up and all the way across my screen that is a little larger than the size of a single hair.
I do not know what steps to take?
