Re: HAND HELD RADIO GP338
Programming cables and radio interface box (RIB) are available from any Motorola dealer. The software is Motorola proprietary and is not available for resale. Thus, the radio is programmable at your local dealer. It generally costs $25-$40 US, to have this model programmed.

The best place to get user manauls for any 2-way radio is to join yahoo group specific to the brand and model of your unit, there they will give you advice and lots of useful info for your radio and freely downloadable items including user manual.
I don't know if you've found an answer to your query yet, but here goes: Q1.Dowload the user manual, if you don't have a copy. Q2.How do you obtain a copy? Q3.Read instructions CAREFULLY, very tricky for a novice. A1.Join yahoo group specific to the BRAND/MODEL of your unit or www.uniden.com and follow the links A2.As above A3.The manual describes in plain english the steps required under direct entry programming. These units are the best uniden has made, especially for listening to P25 comms, if you're into that kind of listening.
I hope this is helpfull, I would have given you programming instructions myself, but it's quite involved and we don't have the space here.
Your GP338 would need to be reprogrammed to one or more of the frequencies available in the T5720. If you are using the interference code eliminator, it would also need to be programmed into the GP338. Take your GP338 to your local Motorola dealer for reprogramming.
The GM300 is dealer programmable using Motorola proprietary software, a programming cable and radio interface box (rib). (Or on some models a ribless cable). I will continue to look for a user guide pdf. If I locate one I will post it.
The GP338-LS 450-527 MHz radio is dealer programmable using Motorola proprietary RSS software. The LS model is a trunking model and would need to be programmed to the LTR trunking tower system in your area. OR you could possibly have it programmed in conventional mode, if available in your radio. This would make it radio-to-radio.
Mostly of this features need to be able by the programing software, this mean that if you dont find it with your menu botton, mean that the radio has disable this features, also depends on the system that provide the service to have this features working, on your profile as customer, ETC
