Hi there, i was wondering if anyone can help me how to insert my micro sd memory card in the lg shine.
I have only bought the mobile today, i know all the functions read all the manual but are still having difficulty inserting the card.
i would be gratefull for a reply asap.

First of all, remove the back cover. The Micro SD slot is located underneath the SIM card slot. Hold the SD card with the metal connectors facing you and slide the card into the slot, metal connectors first, until it clicks in place. A logo of an SD card should then appear on the top of the screen.
Then to remove it, push it in and it will click and then pop back out
I can Confirm that the NZ version, which as far as im aware is only different to the us ones because it has a scroller instead of a multi dirrectional thingy on the front....IS ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH MicroSD cards, and not MicroSDHC.
For some reason the SDHC cards dont get read by the phone. And yes, the correct way to insert the card is with the gold bits facing towards you.
I checked this all with a Vodafone NZ saleperson in a store. We actually took his MicroSD card out of his Nokia and it worked perfectly. While my MicroSDHC want readable in his Nokia.

Ok YOU TAKE THE BACK OF THE PHONE OFF THEN UNDERNEATH THE SIMCARD THERE IS A HOLE PUT IT IN THERE WITH THE GOLD LINES FACING THE SIMCARD okaii
I couldnt get mine to come back out so i used a letter opener to push it and it popd rite out
For telus phones you have to take the back off, and then take out the battery and insert the micro sd card downwards
As from what I have read, the slot may be in either of two places, depending on the model of the Shine. Mine (AT&T) has a slot on the side, whereas others might have ones behind the back cover (under the SIM card apparently). For those with ones with slots on the side (with the little rubber microsd cover), if you're having a problem and think the cover is faulty, you're not pushing the card far down enough. It really needs to be pushed down farther than your finger can go, it's not broken (as I thought at first).
The microSD slot is on the side. You have to use a thin flat screw driver or something small like that in order to push the card in enough to catch. If you push it again, it will pop out.

i have the same problem. It (micro sd) inserts into the phone just fine with the gold bits facing up. then i turn the phone on and chack the external memory and a warning comes up telling me to insert external memory. Is it supposed to go in with the gold bits down?? it doesnt really go in smoothly at all if the gold bits are down.
Please help.
i have tried everything but the phone still wont acknowledge the sd card i have 4 it. it is inserted properly but wen i go to my stuff, external memory it keeps saying to insert it? HELP!!
