I'm sorry but I have no idea what product I chose from the dropdown list provided on this request form. I put the correct product model # in the subject line. Below is everything I know:
I have a KitchenAid built in dishwasher. On the front it says the dishwasher is an "IC Series" & is ~7-9 years old. (model #KUDN230YWH; Serial #VNC4201304; Type: ND2/2) It has stainless steel interior. One of the Light toggle on/off switches in the kitchen controls power to the dishwasher externally. On the front panel there is a "meter" that shows what part of the dishwashing cycle it is currently in.
I have not used is very much over the past 5 years. I tried to run it a couple of weeks ago and it became stuck in the "washing" portion of the cycle. I tried to select different cycle types to make it complete a cycle (ex: pots & pans, normal, etc) with no success. The wash cycle works - hot water fills, motor runs the cleaning cycle, but it never moves on - perpetually washes as long as I leave the power on.
What are the probable causes of this problem?
Are they fixable (economically feasible)?
Having an appliance service technician come out to the house is a minimum of $70 just to diagnose problem. I hope you can help me decide if it is worth it!
Thank you very much, Connie Townsend

you can open the lowe racess panel of d/w and you find a techsheet/ trouble shooter, in ther they will explain how to reset a clean light blinkin 7 times.. you can try pushing the "sani-rinse"---"heated dry"--- "sani-rinse" --- "heated dry"... toggling these buttons will triggor a test mode, youl know your in it for all the lights will light, close the door and wait 30 secs or so, the reopen door and cancel cycle, after it runs for 2min it will be ready fro you to start using again.. of the clean light issue returns, id recommned calling for service

Hi Thanks for using FixYa. If the cycle doesn't
complete, then the first thing that should be checked is the Timer and then the
heating element. Timers don't often fail. But if every other part of the
dishwasher seems to be working properly and the timer knob seems to be stuck in
one place--doing one function continuously--the timer may be at fault.
Dishwasher timers can't be repaired. If yours is defective, replace it. Many
dishwashers heat the wash and/or rinse water to a higher temperature, as the cycle
calls for it. In these cycles, the dishwasher pauses after it has filled with
water, waiting for the water to reach the pre-set temperature. What happens
next depends, as follows: On some units, the pause is timed and the unit
continues after the allotted time. On others, the cycle can't continue until
the water reaches the higher temperature. If you have this type of dishwasher
and the water isn't being heated (say, because of a problem with the heating
element or thermostat), after the unit stops at the heating cycle, it never
continues. When you repair the heating-system problem, the "cycle
problem" is fixed too. Please accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post
a comment for further assistance. Thanks Rylee
SOURCE: I have Kitchenaid dishwasher KUDL03,
You need to do a vinegar wash, the film you are getting is from a change in detergent. many states have now outlawed phosphates in detergents, when the new stuff meets the old that is still in your dishwasher lines it makes the film happen. Fill a cup with vinegar and place it on the upper rack, then run it with no other dish's in it on heavy duty, the water will be displaced from the cup during the wash and will help to stop the film. I had to do this 7 times before the film stopped, good luck

Hi
Please check below video for drain pump removal---
Please refer these instructions for details---
1. Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power.
2. Turn off the water going to the dishwasher.
3. Disconnect the drain line from the dishwasher.
4. Remove the dishwasher drawer and turn it over.
5. Unclip the locking tab from the air cover, slide it forward off the rails, and remove the cover.
6. Use a screwdriver and unsnap the underside of the wiring cover arms, and remove the cover from the bottom of the drawer.
7. Wedge a screwdriver blade into the three top slots of the wiring cover and unsnap the cover from the motor housing.
8. To remove the hall sensor:
a) Disconnect the wire connector at P701.
b) Unclip the locking tab from the hall sensor board and lift the board up and off the motor/heater housing.
9. To remove the wash and drain motor and heater element assembly:
a) Remove the hall sensor (see step 8).
b) Disconnect the green wire from the ground terminal.
c) Remove the drain and fill hoses, and the electrical wires from the locking ring clips.
d) Disconnect the heater element wiring connector.
e) Unclip the two locking arms on the motor housing from the end of the drain hose, and pull the hose out of the housing.
f) Pull straight up and disconnect the three wire connectors from the motor terminals.
g) Lift the locking arm, and rotate the locking ring in a counterclockwise direction until the outer tabs line up with the tub slots. NOTE: The motor housing tabs and slots will also be loose at this point.
h) Lift the motor housing, locking ring, and heater element off the tub, and pull the suction nozzle out of the tub drain opening.
i) Remove the wash and drain motor and the heater element from the tub.
REASSEMBLY NOTES:
1. Check the motor and heater seals for wear or damage. Replace them, if necessary.
2. When you reinstall the heater element, locking ring, and wash & drain motor onto the tub, make sure that the seals below the locking ring and the motor housing are properly positioned to prevent leaking.
3. When tightening the locking ring, make sure that you tighten it fully so that the locking arm (shown in the photo to the left) is locked behind the tub. If the ring is not fully tightened, the locking tabs will not align properly with the slots in the wiring cover.
Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Usually answered in minutes!
Last night I tried resetting the dishwasher circuitry by turning off the house circuit breaker to the kitchen, waited about 5 minutes and flipped the breaker back on. This partially succeeded: the cycle moved from being stuck in "wash" to being stuck in "rinse". I tried a couple of more times and let the washer run a very long time, but it never moved out of the "rinse" mode.
Therefore I still desperately need someone's help please! Thank you, Connie
water enters the washer and water temp seems hot but water does not pump thru spray arms. washer continues to cycle the water drains??
HELP
Kitchen Aid
Model # KUDN230YWH
I have the EXACT same problem. Very troubling. I just tried cutting the breaker for about 10 minutes, but it doesnt seem to help. No modes complete the cycle, and I'm stuck. We just moved into a new house and I feel like we've complained about a ton of things to our landlord. Im hesitant to have them call someone.
Anyone have a solution?
