the problem is hard water i bet. there is a new product out that actually filters the water going into your dishwasher. this i think is awesome becasue who knows whats in the water cleaning the dishes you eat and drink with. my dishes use to be white and spotty and after the first load with the filter they came out spotless. you can get it at www.dishwasherfilter.com. you will be glad you did. oh it goes under the sink and is small and affordable.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Gold quiet partner III, leaves dirty, greasy dishes

You need to clean out the trap in the bottom. It's a little involved to gain acess. You need to remove the bottom dish tray and set it aside. Then use a pair of pliars to hold the nut on the bottom spray arm and unscrew the arm from the nut. When you do it right, the spray arm will come off. Then you need to unscrew the two #2 phillips screws that hold the white water passage in the back and top. You can then turn it to the right and it will come out when you line up the 3 tabs. Then there are 4 Torx T20 screws that hold the screen on. Remove the screws and the screen. You should find all kinds of gunk, food, and who knows what else inside. You're not done yet, remove yet another T20 screw to acess the food grinder way at the bottom. You'll have to clean all the gunk out of there and make sure the screen and grinder aren't broken. Reassemble, and try doing another load, it should work much better. I found small chicken bones, wrappers, even a toothpick in mine.

Hi

White film deposits are observed if water is hard or when you are using more detergent than needed, try filling detergent cup half way. Try using white vinegar after the wash cycle is complete, run a complete cycle. Also turn down the heat on the hot water fed to the dishwasher. Try using water softener for better results.
You can also add vinegar in the final rinse cycle.
Hope this helps... Please post back if more information is required.

Dishwashers have a part usually called a separator or accumulator which traps the dirt from the water during the wash cycles while the water is continuously recycled to clean the dishes. At the end of the cycle the separator is flushed out and the trapped dirt goes down the drain. If it doesn't get flushed out the dirt builds up till it starts showing up on the dishes. Some separators have a hole on top and one on bottom with a valve which stops up one hole or the other depending which cycle it's running. The valve can be stuck or broken causing the problem.

Sounds like glass fragments against the pump impeller. This may jam the impeller and reduce water pump volume giving poor wash performance and possible inability to evacuate the wash tub. It will not go away and may cause the impeller to fail. Remove screens and get the glass out. Do not poke around with your fingers unless you like cuts.

No water going thru washer arms

remove the pump screen and, clean the pump
you probably have broken glass preventing the pump impeller from moving

Whirlpool gold dishwasher leaves film on dishes

are you in a hard water area such as florida ? do you have a water softener? if so take a can of frozen concentrate orange juice and put the frozen hunk in the bottom of dishwasher and run for one cycle. the citric acid will dissolve undisolved soap . this works much better. than vinegar which will only remain through the first cycle and then drain out as for the already grey glasses wash them in a solution of equal amounts red wine vinegar and water with just a touch of dish soap using a sponge.
