Blue screen saying "Can not start application" and it will not do anything. Re-set's don't work. Connections all okay.

Toshiba copier/fax/scanner/printer - eStudio 202L - initially it was printing pages in an odd fashion - it would take one part of the page and print it on an odd part of the page so the printed pages were jumbled. we shut the machine off to do a re-set and when we turned it back on it just says "Cannot Start Application" and it will not do anything. we have checked all connections and have tried a hard re-set ...no change.

SOURCE: Panasonic DP 1520P - wont print

Hi, I have solved my problem posted 5/2/08. Download the gdi driver from Panasonic website as I did above.
Install printer via Control panel, "Add printer" and browse to locate driver. If you do it automatic through the USB it will not work. Mine WORKS now!! Do check that the paper size is A4 also.
All the best...

SOURCE: Application error - the application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005) when launch Import Media (HandyCam/Dics) application

The error 0xC0000005 is generated by an illegal "memory access violation". This can be caused by anything from faulty RAM, an incorrect/corrupt device driver, poorly written/updated software and more commonly under Windows XP Service pack 2, malware/adware installations.
Usually you get this error message when performing a specific task, and if that happens you need to check the corresponding 3rd party's website/support department to see if they are aware of the problem
..a while back symantec Antivirus caused the 0xC0000005 error with an additional message about a file called SAVRT.SYS . A simple software update to the Symantec Antivirus cured the problem.
So what can you do...? well below are a couple of suggestions:
0xC0000005 - Resolution Suggestion One:
In many cases this error has been generated by faulty RAM memory. So if you have just upgraded your computer with some new memory and you started getting this error then I would remove them and see if the error goes away. If it does then send the memory back and get a refund!

0xC0000005 - Resolution Suggestion Two:
In Windows XP Service Pack 2 Microsoft introduced Data execution prevention (DEP), a set of hardware and software technologies that perform additional checks on memory to help protect against malicious code exploits. In Windows XP SP2, DEP is enforced by both hardware and software.
Some software/application behaviors are incompatible with DEP - data execution prevention. Applications which perform dynamic code generation
(such as Just-In-Time code generation) and that do not explicitly mark generated code with Execute permission might have compatibility issues with data execution prevention. Applications which are not built with Safe SEH must have their exception handlers located in executable memory regions.
Applications that attempt to violate DEP will receive an exception with status code STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005).
If an application requires executable memory, it must explicitly set this attribute on the appropriate memory by specifying PAGE_EXECUTE, PAGE_EXECUTE_READ, PAGE_EXECUTE_READWRITE or PAGE_EXECUTE_WRITECOPY in the memory protection argument of the Virtual* memory allocation functions.
If you are having issues with 0xC0000005 errors in DEP and a particular piece of software is causing the offense, contact the vendor for a resolution...
Note: It is possible to "Turn Off" DEP in the boot.ini file but this really would be a last step!
/NOEXECUTE
This option is only available on 32-bit versions of Windows when running on processors supporting no-execute protection. It enables no-execute protection (also known as Data Execution Protection - DEP), which results in the Memory Manager marking pages containing data as no-execute so that they cannot be executed as code. This can be useful for preventing malicious code from exploiting buffer overflow bugs with unexpected program input in order to execute arbitrary code. No-execute protection is always enabled on 64-bit versions of Windows on processors that support no-execute protection.
There are several options you can specify with this switch:
/NOEXECUTE=OPTIN Enables DEP for core system images and those specified in the DEP configuration dialog.
/NOEXECUTE=OPTOUT Enables DEP for all images except those specified in the DEP configuration dialog.
/NOEXECUTE=ALWAYSON Enables DEP on all images.
/NOEXECUTE=ALWAYSOFF Disables DEP. (This setting doesn't provide any DEP coverage for any part of the system, regardless of hardware DEP support. The processor doesn't run in Physical Address Extension (PAE) mode unless the /PAE option is present in the boot.ini file.)
0xC0000005 - Resolution Suggestion Three:
I have also seen this error in the gaming community when folks have updated drivers for their graphics card. If this happens just roll back your drivers.

0xC0000005 - Resolution Suggestion Four:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 stops responding when you try to open an HTML document or a Web page. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
Access Violation (0xC0000005 exception)
CAUSE:
This problem may occur when you use Internet Explorer 6.0 to open an HTML document or a Web page that contains SPAN tags. If a SPAN tag is not closed correctly by using the </SPAN> tag, an access violation may occur.
WHY are you using IE6 still??? Upgrade to IE 7 today!
...and that should have now resolved the 0xC0000005 error for you!

I have a problem with my toshiba laptop?i think i need to reset it?can u help me?

Here's how you can restore your Toshiba laptop to factory settings (don't forget to backup your files before restoring it to factory settings).

Restart your pc and even before you see anything on the screen, repeatedly tap on the F8 key until the Advanced Boot Option Screen appears.

Click "Repair Your Computer" if you are not already on it and then press enter.

Choose your country and click ok.

On the System Recovery Options Screen click Restore Application.

Follow the on-screen instructions

When prompted, click on Full Factory Recovery then click on next then yes.

You will notice for a while it seems like nothing is happening, give it some time.

After some minutes, recovery will complete and you click Finish.

There is a known issue on this model and Toshiba knows about it. A password can be automatically be set by the computer and will need to be removed and have the BIOS updated so it won't happen again by an "authorized service provider." You can locate your closest Toshiba ASP at support.toshiba.com This is a known issue and Toshiba knows about it. You should get this covered at no charge if you take it into an ASP, make sure to verify this with the ASP and take it somewhere else if they tell you it will cost you anything. Toshiba will cover this till December 31st 2010.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, a couple of checks:
  • verify that the P/N switch is set to the color system of your country. N (NTSC) for US and P for most of Euroope and Australia;
  • depending on how "old" the TV, the Screen Resolution of the Toshiba may have to be brought down to the lowest possible setting;
  • additionally, the Screen Refresh Rate may likewise need to be lowered say 60 Hz;
  • all of the connections you mentioned are video connections. However, only 1 should be used. You may have to experiment (again depending on the TV) which setting & connection would give you the best picture;
  • offhand, the component connection (if applicable, the red/green/blue cable) would give the best connection followed by S-Video and last would be yellow (composite).

Please postback results of initial checks.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Toshiba televison picture keeps going yellow

Sounds like the blue is disappearing from your picture. A common cause of this is bad solder connections which can cause the blue signal to be lost at several places. It could also be due to picture tube failure. Sadly, I'm leaning toward tube failure because of your description. Bad solder connections usually take some time to start acting up after you turn on the set, but you say this happens every time within a few seconds. This is typical of a picture tube failure where an internal connection is okay until the tube heats up, and that takes only a short time. A service shop could check the set to make a firm diagnosis, but if the tube is the culprit you should replace the TV. It's not economical to consider tube replacement.

Blue crt assmbly maybe?

its very possible that the blue CRT is horting the set out. Heres how you can test it. Remove the speaker grille and access panel behind the grille and you will see the crts. remove the blue crt circuit board from the end of the blue crt and make sure it isnt touching anything then try powering up the set if it doesnt shut down then you have found the problem and you will need a new crt. or you can switch the blue circuit with the green and try it iwth the blue on green and the green on the blue then if the screen turns green before shutting down you will know that its a problem in the blue drive circuit and not the crt. lety me know if you need further assistance.
