Some of the reasons why sim card getting failed to register in your mobile
1.If your mobile was not unlocked you had get a message asking you to enter a PIN. Get the pin from an online vendor like http://www.theunlockarena.com/supported-phones/rs13wp7/ or http://www.unbblock.com/blackberry/rs18wp8/ .
2.With a warning that you have 10 attempts to enter the correct PIN code or it could be locked forever ,if you do not get that message it's "mostly likely" unlocked.BUT find a phone with a known working SIM and see if it will work and connect to the network.
3.This has to be a problem with the SIM card slot, which is soldered down to the logic board. It's possible that it's a mechanical problem , you might be able to open it up and discover that the card-detect switch is failing to detect SIM card insertion
Hi,
There are several reasons that can cause this problem.
Sim card registration failed means it has been locked out by the service provider. Did you buy the phone NEW? If so take it back they will exchange it.If you bought it used, it has been reported lost or stolen before they sold it to you. It is also possible that the "registration failed" message could be caused by a faulty SIM card not being correctly read by the phone.
Check if that SIM works in another phone (either an unlocked phone, or one that is on the same network), and also try another SIM in your phone - this would tell you whether the SIM or the phone is at fault in your case. A faulty SIM is an issue for your operator, a faulty phone would have to be repaired at a service point. In countries like India, you need to register your SIM card. The cell phone company blocks the SIM if they don't receive the application within few weeks of activating the phone. Please check if this is case. Take out the SIM and test it with a different phone, if the phone fails to read the SIM, get the SIM replaced. Few days ago this worked for a friend with a brand new Nokia handset here in Lagos, Nigeria.
you might have not provided a proper ID proof for your sim card during purchase. So the network provider will disconnect your connection and your mobile phone will show as SIM CARD REGISTRATION FAILED. buy a new SIM card with a valid proof
If its just SIM locked, you will need to contact your service provider
(ie Optus/Vodafone etc) and Request a PUK code. In alot of cases when
you have PUK'd your phone, you will need a SIM Replacement, which you
can get from the mobile Phone shops.
If you are trying to remove the network lock and have tried 3 times the phone is screwed and will need to be taken to a Nokia Care Center, they may charge.
Try out different sim card to check phone's proper function. Because the message "SIM CARD REGISTRATION FAILED" is due to network problem or sim card problem. Hope it works. Don't hesitate to contact me again if it doesn't solve the problem. Thanks
