Did you enter the security key (password)? It may be your laptop? Try resetting the D-Link to default settings and connecting to the laptop. They reconfigure the SSID and Security Key. Go here: http://www.dlink.com/dir-601
Click "Support Resources" and everything you need should be there. I do not believe they allow a download of the software but you can use the manual to setup the router.

Can i have the brand name of the modem , Your Internet service provider name , so that we can configure the router with using the CD.
We have another method to configure the router that is manual configuration method.

Unable to configure my wireless belkin N150

As i understand you have a router provided by your ISP: MTNL, you need to configure the Belkin router in Dynamic mode and not in PPPoE. Then restart the devices by unplugging the power from MTNL router and Belkin. Wait for 20 secs, then power up MTNL router 1st, wait for all lights to get steady and finally power up the Belkin wireless router. Then you will find the modem and internet light lit up properly.
