Question about Fisher and Paykel GWL11 Top Load Washer

My maytag washer has a burning smell.

I just bought this washer from a friend and he said that he had no problems with it but when I got home and hooked it up and tried to do a load of laundry, half way through I noticed a burning smell so I checked it out and I didnt see anything but after the washer was done, I went in to put the clothes into the dryer and noticed that they were dripping wet. What could the problem be? Please help!!!

What model do you have.?It doesn't sound like it was spinning.A frozen pump would make the belt burn and it would leave some water in the tub .

This washer if it is around 3-8 years old most likely isn't spinning at all.The brake is probably locking up and if you need more help I'm available & happy to assist you.

hello you need to change drum rollers but if u remarked water dawn the washer and burn smell it could be the motor OR THE BELT because when the drum stop turning or turn slowly the motor turn fast on the belt when spin time it make this smell .

the burning you smell is probably your belt. if you change the belt and it still has this problem then your transmition has failed. This is a very comon problem with maytag washers.

Maytag washer stop spining and smell burned

two main things pump and motor pulley.the motor pulley on admiral designed maytags is plastic and melts and causes belt to burn.also pump pulley spot welds break causing pulley to drag.tip machine so rests on wall in back and you can inspect from there.hope that helps God bless ,tom

I'm having an issue with my Fisher and Paykel GWL11 top load washer. I was doing some routine cleaning maintenance on the unit yesterday. I removed the top console area with all of the buttons/electronics. As I removed it, I fumbled it a bit. And dropped it. It didn't hit the ground. Just fell against the wall. After i put the unit back together, I plugged it back in. When I plugged it back, in it did about 7-8 fast beeps and almost all of the indicator lights are on solid except for Cold, Low, 3hr, lid locked, fast, Auto, regular, and a few of the wash progress lights. I can't power on/off the machine. If I hit some of the buttons, it will fast beep like it does when I plug it in. Did I ruin the motherboard? I don't see any loose connections.... Any ideas?? Thank you.

My fisher and paykel washing machine top loader will not change from the first rinse cycle to the next, but does if it is on delicates. Goes through the wash cycle spins out then keeps on rinsing and spinning until I manually switch to next cycle which is rinse, then it keeps going u til finished.
