I have an external USB Lite on sohc 5232k combo dvd/cdrw rom installed on windows xp pro sp2. System devices acknowledges the dvd rom under the dvd/cdrom devices with windows xp cdrom.sys driver installed, reporting the device is working correctly The other drivers are imapi.sys, redbook.sys and storprop.DLL. These are the same system files loaded for my standard cdrom drive. The DVD/CDR ROM isn't recognizing any disk of any type in the drive. I've uninstalled and rebooted, updated the firmware, cleaned the drive and tried every cdrom system driver listed in the windows xp hardware driver installation program. Nothing works. Why are so many peolple experiencing this same problem but no one knows how to fix it? What else could/should we do?
You could take the drive out of the encloser and hook it up. There could be a flaw in the enclouser ive had that happen before to me. I just took it out and put it in standard if this dosent work then there is a flaw in the dvd burner
