Sounds like a problem with the throttle valve.
you will have to remove the air inlet (item# E) then pull the spring out (item# 37) and look to see if you find any foreign objects, if not the proceed to pull the throttle valve (pin cover) (item# 37) and check the seal (item# 34) for wear.

Kobalt 1/2in air impact wrench will not take off any nuts. It will hammer 1 or 2 times then air will by-pass out the exhaust. It works good putting nuts on.

Make sure that you have 90 psi of supply air. If you are not running an inline oiler run some air tool oil through the gun.
You could even try running some gum solvent through the gun to clean it. If it still does not work you may have to replace the two o-rings and bushing on the reverse switch shaft.

I have a craftsman model 919.165300 compressor 5 hp 30 gallon. It runs it builds pressure and shuts off like its suppose to. The problem is when I attach my impact wrench to the airline and press the...

first I hope that you drain the water out of the tank regularly. It seems as though you might have an air hose collapsing but in any case there is something apparently restricting air flow too the gun. try opening the petcock and see if you have steady air discharge or not and if you have another air hose try it. Also, are coming directly off the compressor to the tool or do you have an oiler or drier in line? if so, eliminate the accessory. Let me know how you do....I'm curious.

Kobalt air compressor starts and stops after maybe a second or less. Need to reset my wall outlet every time it stops.

sounds like it is drawing too much power. either the breaker isn't sized correctly or the motor has a bad winding causing it to draw too much amperage. remember, electric motors draw up to 3 times the juice briefly when starting up

Air Wrench Question

An impact wrench works in the manner suggested by the name of the tool: through the principle of impact. In order to understand how an electrical or air-powered impact wrench works, it helps to know first how a manually powered impact wrench operates. A manually powered impact wrench looks like a fat screwdriver; on the end where the screwdriver blade normally goes, you can snap on screwdriver bits or sockets.
