Ah music to my ears =) this pc I know very well. The easiest way to restore is to restart your pc and when the DELL insignia appears press F8 then a screen with pop up go down till you get to LAST KNOWN GOOD Configuration and viola!! It would help if you made a restore disk once it starts running again or set a new restore point from there on out. Good luck =)

My computer wont start internet explorer im trying to do a system recovery but i dont have the disk

Telephone Dell. They can supply a set of "System Restore" CDs, and ship the disks to you.

You'll need to give them the unique Dell Asset Tag code (black type on a white sticky note, stuck to the back or bottom of the computer).

Hi I wantto do the recovery manager process in my Dell optiflex GX1 ,Intel Pentium 111.I want to clean everything in it can u plz help me how to do it

With that machine, it is probably best to just get a copy of windows 2000 pro, and reformat and reinstall the old fashioned way. 2k is very very stable, and will find many of the devices in that older machine. You could easily toss in a large EIDE hard drive and use that machine for local area network storage. The fun part is, you can also learn networking and sharing, so you can share music with every computer at your house (linked to your network, of course).

Dell Optiplex GX1 not recognizing all hard drives.

Hello,
If you connect the drives using one single ribbon cable with two connectors on it then you need to set the drives to Master/Slave using the jumpers on the drives. Master being your OS drive.
If you are running a very old Operating System, make sure it can support a 20GB drive.

I need help with an old gx1 computer

With the low prices of computers today,it better to replace it with a new one. The reason are its dated and getting the parts will not be easy and probably more expensive than getting a new computer. With a new computer you can transfer all your information to the new computer and not have to worry, for a few years, about more problems. If you try to just repair it, that will be like getting a new computer with old technology. Things move forward so fast in the computer markets that it just doe's not make sense to keep old out of date technology. Like the crt monitors and televisions all things change as technology changes.I hope this helps you with your problem.
