Cursor bounces around, doesn't release when highlighting

When highlighting something, the cursor(?)(highlighting) doesn't 'release' even when the mouse button is released. When typing, the cursor will suddenly bounce around- frequently several lines up and I find I'm suddenly typing in the middle of a word 4 lines up. This happens using a mouse and/or using the touchpad.

No, I'm using XP and don't think that's and option with XP. I don't see 'track stick' in the touchpad settings. ??

There may be a stuck key on the keyboard, especially directional keys (maybe caused by a spilled soft drink) ... open laptop to 90 degree angle and then put on its side and blow with canned air to remove debris. If this doesn't help, you may have to remove the keyboard and clean underneath it ... good luck!

Does your laptop have a touch pointer within the keypad? This can cause the problem you're experiencing. Did you try turning the track stick off in the touchpad settings?

Cursor jumps around

Make sure your fingers aren't on the screen. That makes the cursor jump. Even holding the device with your fingers too close to the screen will cause that too.

Samsung labtop cursor jumps around when typing causing all kinds of problems including highlighting and erasing entire lines or sentences!

Press Fn & F10. This disables the touchpad. You will have to use arrows or a mouse to move the cursor. This helps when you are doing a lot of typing. Press the same keys to enable the touchpad when you are finished typing.

Set the camera's release mode to one of the two remote modes. Quick-response remote mode fires the shutter when you press the button on the remote. Delayed remote mode gives you two seconds to hide the remote behind your back before firing the shutter.

To set the camera's release mode, press the button to bring up the information display. Press the button to put the cursor into the information display. Use the cursor keys to highlight the release mode (fifth item from the top along the right edge) and press OK. Use the cursor keys to highlight the desired mode and press OK.

Full details are in the manual in the "Release Mode" section (page 53 in my copy).
