SOURCE: Sunfire MK II Subwoofer hum. I have a Sunfire MK

you have a ground loop issue you could purchase a ground loop isolator, jensen makes them for about 40 bucks.I have discovered that if you have cable tv, unplug the incoming cable in your cable box and see if hum disappears.

My Frigidaire fex831fs4 washer motor hums but wont start.i took belt off.still hums no start even when timer is not set to run.if I close lid motor hums then kicks out then it trys again.thanks 4 help

I appreciate your post, Mike!

Based off what you have described your Frigidaire washer motor will hum and not start. In order to test each component you would need to have the proper electrical equipment. I would recommend contacting a professional technician for proper repairs. They will have the necessary equipment needed to complete your repair. Hopefully this is helpful. -Matt

Making a humming noise

The HRS-10, HRS-8 and HRS-12 amplifiers are practically identical, and they share six small, weak electrolytic capacitors in the power supply board. They are located in pairs. The cheap, original capacitors dry out after several years, and cause the hum. Upgrading them to high quality (e.g., Panasonic) low-ESR capacitors will typically solve the hum, and will last longer than the originals used by Sunfire.

Have a whirlpool washer that now hums when I turn the cycle on, no water just a hum

I had a similar problem - had to get a technician out - there was a valve at the back of the machine that allows the machine to fill. It had split (apparently its a common problem? there are separate valves for hot and cold water, so I'm not sure if using a different cycle choice (ie cold only), may let the machine fill?). 10 minute fix job

Pump acts like it is froze up. It hums and smells like it is burning when it runs. It hums then shuts off, hums then shuts off?

Either you need a new start/run capacitor or the bearings have seized. If it's been running loudly recently, the bearings have probably seized. If not, the start capacitor is probably bad. This can sometimes happen when the motor windings start to develop a short. If you replace the capacitor and it blows again, you'll probably need a new motor.

A23 AMP

If the amp hums with just speakers connected and no inputs. The problem is internal and Parasound should take care of it under their usually prompt warr. service which is still in force. 5 months sound odd. Was your dealer getting it or was it direct? If not them connect one component at a time, add preamp next(nothing connected to it). If it hums them use a 3-2 ground lifter on the AC cord of the amp and do not connect the wire to the outlet screw. If not them connect each component. If you have cable very often this will cause hum even if you are not listening to cable sound. Use a ground isolator in line with the cable RF input.

GE Dryer DWSR473GV0WW periodically just hums when turning on switch

if it hums when you start it means switch is ok. problem may be the motor capacitor. to check, take off the top and give the drum a push in the normal direction of rotation. if it goes then motor capacitor is faulty - cheap part
