Miele refrigerator Model KFN 8993 SDE (I believe)

I have a free standing Miele fridge that won't stop beeping.  It has an error code of 'F4' but I don't have an operating manuel for it.  It doesn't have frost or buildup.  Nothing unusual has happened.  The non stop beeping is driving me a little crackers and I really need your help.  I've tried altering the temp gauge to see if that stops it and sometimes it will for a while.  It starts it's beeping usually in the early evening and will continue until dawn (very antisocial)

Sorry for my English ;) I have refrigerator miele cause seemed to be a good stuff. So one day we decide to buy a used one for to have a bit of luxury ;))) Worked fine for 2 years, and suddenly we have got alarm! Middle of a night! First solution: turn off and after a few minutes turn on. Can help for a few hours, sometimes for more then one day. I read that time a lot how to solve the problem, but in the end seems like to contact with service is the only one. Because I'm a curious guy and I see that the problem is with temp. sensor in freezer, started to look for it. Eureka!!!!!! I found the problem! So.... What'd I did? Turned of the stuff. (disconected from power supplier). Then empty freezer, all boxes and aluminum shelves. In the back is white cover (plastic one) with 3 or 4 screws (need Tory bit for screwdriver to take them off). Behind I found something like a aluminum radiator, completely covered with ice. Under this was a place for water to be taken away also frosted. I took a heater to get rid of the ice. When was clear, the cover back, and voila!!!! Now is two months with no problem. Even sounds different than before. If any questions you can send to : wojta (at) plusnet.pl Good luck!

Similar to this, although I also had a build up of frost in the freezer. Advice from Miele:

"You have a fault on freezer evaporator sensor and will need an engineer to call and repair please contact our office o 01235554466 to arrange a service visit."

Rather than this, which i assumed would be expensive but didn't bother calling, I defrosted the fridge/freezer overnight and turned it back on in morning. Freezer cooled down to -18 in a few hrs and since then all is working fine - it's been a couple of weeks or so now.

Miele KFN 12823 SD1 Index 20K 164 evaporator sensor location

The error code you are experiencing on your Miele KFN 12823 SD1 with four beeps and flashing of the super freeze LED, along with the 9 and 5 LEDs on the fridge temperature block, is indicating a problem with the fridge evaporator sensor. This sensor is responsible for monitoring the temperature inside the fridge compartment and is located in the fridge section.
According to the service manual, the evaporator sensor for your model is located inside the fridge compartment, behind the light unit and it can be accessed by removing the light cover. The sensor is connected to the main control board via a cable.
It's important to note that the location of the sensor can vary depending on the specific model. In your case, since the sensor seems not to be behind the light unit, it could be that it is foamed-in.
If you want to replace the sensor, you will need to carefully remove the foam insulation in order to access the sensor. This can be a delicate process and it's important to be careful not to damage the insulation, which can affect the cooling efficiency of the fridge.
It's recommended to have a professional technician to help you with the replacement, as it might involve handling with refrigerant and electrical connections.
It's also important to make sure that you have the correct replacement sensor for your model and to follow the instructions in the service manual to ensure a proper installation.

The refrigerator and freezer are not working.

Additional information regarding the make, model and serial number would be helpful in diagnosing many problematic issues.

Fridge light bulb

Not sure how the light socket only has 6V supply? The bulb for this fridge is a pretty standard 15 Watt/230V SES lamp. If you are sure the current lamp is OK I would suggest the door lamp switch has issues. Try pressing and releasing the door switch manually and check that it functions ok without getting stuck or any sluggish movement. This action in itself may fix the problem.

MIELE KFN8762SDED (SS/fridge/freezer)

No problem just use the + and - buttons when you have chosen the temp. you want just let go and that is the temp the fridge or freezer will set at.
