There are no jumpers on laptops. remove the battery and disconnect the mains charger hold down the on button for about 30 seconds this resets the bios. Replace the battery
The device you need is called a scan converter, they are available from www.newegg.com search for avermedia. Please keep in mind, these adapters will convert from pc to tv but the picture in now where near as clean and crisp, especially for text. I think your best be would be to spend just a little more and get a 19-22" LCD monitor.

Hi, if in agreement to what you indicate your problem it resides in the system board, anyway I recommend to you that before taking the decision to replace the system board, you realize the following tests. 1.-Removes the battery packaging. 2.-It Tries removing one of the banks of memory, if only you possess a dimm of memory tries placing it in another socket. 3.-It Checks that the AC Adapter works adequately, that is to say that this giving the 15 volt of output requiere for the machine
