Where do the batteries go on the efx 546i - Precor EFX 546i Elliptical Version 4

We are FIXYA dot com. We are not Precor and we certainly don't take credit card numbers. By 'charging bat', you mean battery for the display. The battery is mentioned 67 times in the manual. Press CTRL+F and type in 'battery'. Page 39 and 40, looks to be what you need.

Depends on the version - some have the battery in the front, some have it in the back. The one in the picture next to your question would have it in the front, on the bottom. Take the old battery to Batteries Plus or similar retailer to match it up.

The battery is usually located at the back of the machine towards the top -- there may be a circuit board on top of the battery. And the second link listed below is a technical bulletin for certain models to help prevent damage to the battery during installation.

I would definitely check the battery first. The battery may not have enough charge to power everything plus the lift motor.

Drill it down on the left side under "narrow your search" and look for the serial number prefix. This will let you find all the correct parts and information specific to your model and serial number.

Battery operated 546s have a fuse on the lower board, plug in models have a fuse on the lower board and fuses in the power inlet.

Following is the warning about the battery installation for certain models of the Precor ellipticals.

Precor Elliptical Models Affected:

• EFX C524 with serial#s beginning I7, K7, LH, SW, SX
• EFX C546 with serial#s beginning NF,SZ, IK, IL, IU
• EFX C546I with serial#s beginning X8, XG, Z2
• EFX C556 with serial#s beginning NG, SY

When replacing the battery on your Precor elliptical it is important to make sure that the battery terminals are not allowed to make contact with the metal surface of the battery bracket. **Damage to the battery will occur**.
Electrical tape can be wrapped around the battery terminals to prevent them from making contact with the metal surface of the battery bracket.
Battery replacement on the EFX C524, EFX C546, EFX C546i and EFX C556 instructs you to remove the (4) screws that fasten the battery bracket to the frame. This allows you to turn the lower PCA and battery assembly away from the frame so you can slide the battery out of the battery bracket. It may be necessary to remove the nut that fastens the front retaining bracket or "L" bracket in order to slide the battery out of the battery bracket.
