Question about Frigidaire FGX831C Top Load Stacked Washer / Dryer

Dryer putting black smears on clothes

I have a GE Profile Dryer that isonly a few years old. My clothes are coming out of it with black smudges on them. There is a plastic piece inside the drum on the front that looks like it has become brittle and is cracking. Do I need to order just the plastic piece for the inside of the drum or is there something else causing the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

your clothes are getting caught between the drum and the rim due to bearings out of the wheel guides. These guides are what the drum rests on when it is turning. Most dryers you can access these guides by taking the front off the dryer. Not a big expense just a little difficult to get to .

you need to inspect the ignitor/glow coil that ignites the gas in the burner tube as they are very fragile,then on the burner tube body check the radint sensor eye it can be dirty,clean it first or then replace it,the gas valve boost and secondary coils on the gas valve could have been damaged and they keep the gas valve open to supply gas to the burner,then also check the thermal fuse on the vent blower housing as water could have ruined this component,also check all wire connections for water corrosion too

My GE Profile Harmony dryer wont dry clothes

I finally had a GE authorized tech come to our house, because we've had the same problem on and off for about 2 yrs. Our's is 5 1/2 yrs old, and the problem was the blower motor, which is hard to get to, and the nut holding the fan in place is also put on going the "opposite" direction. (So lefty loosey, righty tighty doesn't work for this one) The Tech told me in all his years he has never replaced a heater in any of these, and it has 2. The usual problem is the blower motor has gone bad. It's working great now, and it was $470 to fix, but still cheaper than a new one....

Water marks on stainless profiles

I have used Bon Ami or Bar tenders Stainless steel cleaner (found in the section of Ajax or Comet Cleaner). Put some of the powder on soft cloth, wet it a little & scrub mark lightly; use clean rag w/water to clean off powder. Then use stainless steal spray cleaner (like the one found at Bath & Beyond) and rub in with soft cloth. I have found that the pull-out stainless steel cleaner wipes are too wet & just smear. first checkyour breaker it may not look like it is tripped but cut it off and on or maybe the thermo fuse or you element is bad you have to check proper voltage to parts

the dryer drum appears to have a lot of play in it. it is starting to burn clothes in the dryer. this is happening at the front of the drum, where the felt seal is. it appears the the space is not even all the way around, the top is almost touching metel to metal. is therse a bearing or shaft that needs to be replaced that could correct this problem. note this unit is 10 /- years old.

Washer won't remove all water from final spin. Washer goes through it's cycles, the dial moves as it should and then for the final spin it just stops. I've tried restarting the cycle from the beginning and also from the last cycle that worked but always the same result. My stackable washer/dryer is about 3 years old, purchased in 2007 and gently used. My neighbor stopped by to look at it and said he thought it was a small rectangular motor located on the bottom front of the washer and two hoses came into this part that needed to be replaced. His online research said it cost around $87. He also verified it wasn't a lid issue. Unfortunately this friend has moved and I don't recall the name of the part I need to order. Can you confirm his diagnosis and tell me the name of the part I need to order and where I can purchase it, whether it be in my area or online. I need it ASAP. My zip code is 75002, Allen TX. The white plastic pieces just inside the font of the drum are the front bearings there are aboutfour of these, you will need to take the front of the machine to put them in, your clothes are probably picking up black smeres from where the plastis bearings have worn.
