My camera wants me to re-attach the power source. It doesn't matter if I'm using the battery or AC adaptor. The DV tape holder in the camera will not pop out automatically. When I do get it to open the camera displays the eject tape symbol.

I can't find the AC v515 adapter any where! But You can buy the next best thing. A battery charger one that will at least fit an NP-F730 battery. Go on to eBay and type Sony vc1000 and anything related will come up. These chargers can be used in your car and at home, what's more they are not expensive. Nick
Although I don't have that particular camera, I've read that you have, basically, two options. Connect the camera to a USB port and download the tape to the computer (proper software required), then you can can download the file to a dvd. Otherwise, you have to buy a special recording machine (starting about $80) to transfer the tape directly to a dvd.
I am no longer a Sony product fan - this is the most unacceptable performance of any of their prodducts I have ever attempted to use. I have NEVER been able to record ANYTHING with this. The very first cassette - gave me the 'moisture' flashing symbol, and the cassette would not eject. Then after reading a recommendation on this board, I removed and reinstalled the battery a couple of times and the cassette finally popped out - now it won't accept the cassette and close - PLUS will not accept my normal NPfh30 battery and keeps telling me to reattach the power source. and after nummerous tires and camera resets, tried the NPFH100 battery and it tells me that I can not use this battery in the camera. I still get a C:32:11 code and so far this is a non-functional - malfunctioning POS
try removing the button cell battery, main battery, and any other power source from the camera and let it sit for one hour. THen using only the AC adaptor, see if the camera works, if it doesn't then you may have to take it to a repair shop, cause the cassette door has malfunctioned.
* The most frequent cause of this type situation is not having a power source attached, or a depleted battery pack.
* Once the power source is available, some models require manually unlatching and opening a cover.
* When the cover is fully open, the cassette will eject automatically after a few seconds.
* If the tape still will not eject, seek assistance from a Service Facility because you need a special tool to remove the tape without causing further damage.
Defective mechanism, a stucked mechanism is present. camcorder are smart it can detects error and shuts down itself for safety. earlier models dominoes the defect if the user is not quick enough to react when something goes wrong with the camera. You need professional service to fix it.
