Parental controls [ password forgot]

1. On the Nintendo DSi Menu, use the stylus to select the Settings ("wrench") icon.
2. Select the right arrow twice to reach the third page, then select "Parental Controls."
3. Select "Yes," to change the parental controls.
4. You will be prompted for your 4-digit PIN.
   • If you know the PIN, select the empty text box and enter the PIN using the on-screen keyboard, then select "OK" to continue.
   • If you don't know the PIN, select "I forgot," then select the empty text box for the answer to the secret question and enter it using the on-screen keyboard. Select "OK" to continue.
   • If you don't know either the PIN or the secret question, the Parental Controls will need to be reset. Please call 1-800-255-3700 for assistance.
5. Select "Clear Settings," then select "Yes" to confirm.

Hi.

Go into system settings and navigate to parental controls, tap on yes to change parental controls. Where the DSI asks for the password tap on "I forgot", it should then take you to the secret question page. Enter the secret question and you should be able to reset the password. If your son has forgotten his secret question again tap on "i forgot". It will then give you an 8 digit code. Leave it on that screen for the time being. Don't tap OK.
Post that code here and I should be able to provide you with a 5 digit code so you can reset the password and clear the parental settings.

If you have Parental Controls turned on, but cannot remember your PIN, you will be prompted to select and answer a secret question that will allow you to change your PIN in the "Game Settings and PIN" menu

If you no longer remember your PIN, nor the answer to your secret question, then you will need to contact Nintendo Consumer Service for assistance.  To acces and change the parental control settings you SHOULD:

1. Access the Wii System Settings
   
2. Click on the blue arrow to reach the Wii System Settings 2 menu options.
3. Choose "Parental Controls" and select "Yes."
4. Enter the 4-digit PIN and select OK. If you have forgotten the PIN, select " I forgot" to answer the secret question. (Answers to the secret question are case sensitive.) You will now be in the Parental Controls menu, and can change the following items:

i encountered this problem a few months ago.,i had to contact customer care for nintendo that ran through a few steps but with no result so i searched online ad i turned up something form thier support pages

If you can´t remember your PIN, you will be prompted to select and answer a secret question that will allow you to retrieve a forgotten Parental Controls PIN. If you are unable to retrieve your PIN by answering your secret question, you´ll have to call Nintendo Consumer Service. You can get this number by going to the Nintendo website, selecting your country, then click on the "contact" link at the bottom of the web page.
