Question about Apple iBook G3 Clamshell (M2453B) Mac Notebook

Firewall I tried to install Brickhouse Firewall, and it became obvious quickly that it was a problem, so I disabled it, but that didn't work, so I uninstalled it. Nothing. So I repaired disk permissions. It didn't help. I then reinstalled Panther from the disk so that it created a previous system folder. But the problem is still there. And the problem is that safari won't work, and I can't get internet explorer to come up. I can connect to internet through chat, but the browsers just won't come up. I'm new to mac, having worked mostly with pc's. Have I completely trashed my little ibook?

Firewall stops me using yahoo messenger

Uninstall or disable any security software running on your computer. Try restarting your computer in safe mode with networking and then installing. If all of the above doesn't works and still you were getting message for firewall then either disable your Router's firewall by opening Router's page or Bypass router for a while and connect directly to Modem and then Install.

There is a known issue between AVG 8 and Anniversary Edition of Ad-Aware which gives exactly this error, so if you perhaps just got that ad-aware, uninstall it too before trying to reinstall AVG.

Then run the uninstall/cleanup util for Avast because the Windows Add/Remove isn't good for uninstalling antivirus programs. Then try reinstalling it again. If you downloaded the installation package, then it provides the uninstall option. Disable Ad-Aware's Adwatch first! Run the AVG installer. Choose the uninstall option and follow the wizard. When you get to the part to remove user settings, select it. Restart your computer then... Now reinstall AVG using the setup file you got and update it.
Restart Windows twice before you re-enable anything disabled earlier.

Should this not work and you get the same error, that means the original errornous installation is still not out of your system. Download the AVG remover from here:

Remove your AVG and reboot to make sure it is not there any more, and try installing again.

Is hp deskjet 2460 a plug and play printer?

Try uninstalling the software and delete the printer from you "Printers and Faxes" window if it is there.

Disable your firewall and any antivirus programs you have running.

Try installing the printer again according to the setup guide.

Once installed enable your firewall and A/V.

hi, after disable the firewall, pl check that no antivirus programs are blocking the port for myspaceim. try to uninstall then reboot the system, and install again. this should work.

i work in HP. This issue is solved when you uninstall hp toolbox completely. Then you run SCRUBBER.EXE and UNINSTALL.BAT( are in the cd) in windows/system32.
Then disable firewall of windows and antivirus.
Put printer in AUTOMATIC ip ADDRESS (only for the installation). Then select the quick network installation Now the problem is solved.

Cannot access Internet thru router

Power off the following items: Power off the router wait for five minutes. You may have to reset the router. You shouuld have a reset button on the router some where. After resetting the router make sure you set your security settings. Have you tried uninstalling your firewall software and then reinstalling? I have worked on alot of machines that had problems with AOL and I like cable or dsl better. 1. Left click on start and choose the run option. 2. Type the folllowing text CMD and choose ok or enter key. 3. Now you should have a dos menu. 4. Type the following command line ipconfig/flushdns 5. Close everything out and trying connecting to the internet now. Good luck.

ActiveSync not syncing

Typically this means you have a firewall enabled. If your using Windows XP SP2, make sure that ActiveSync is in the exceptions tab of the Windows Firewall (control panel->windows firewall->exceptions). If your using Norton Internet Security, right click on the globe icon in the system tray (near the clock on your task bar) and choose disable, the try syncronizing again. If your using McAffee Antivirus or the McAffee Firewall, you could try McAffee for help configuring that OR uninstall McAffee, uninstall ActiveSync the reinstall ActiveSync then install McAffee and do all of your Antivirus and Firewall definitions updates.
