I have a canon pixma ip5200 and everytime I try to print the warning reads: "ink tank errors have occurred. Open the printer's cover and replace the ink tanks on which ink lamps are off." The blue ink tanks is always secure in it's place but the light is always off. As soon as I take the ink tank out and reinstall it the error light flashes again I have a very similar problem with an error message about an unlit lamp. In my case, it's the cyan tank that shows the fault. Every time that I remove and replace the tank, the lamp lights up, but it goes out again when I try to print anything. (The tank is almost competely full.)

My large black ink cartridge with not print correctly on my Canon Pixma MP830. All the other colors work fine. I've done numerous cleaning and deep cleaning. Then replaced the cartridge and it still prints...

Are your black ink cartridges genuine Canon ones?
Are the contacts clean when you remove the cartridge?
If not blow off with compressed air and a clean brush, if necessary.

Issue: Black ink does not print
Solution: Confirm that the recommended ink tanks are installed properly MP800R / MP830

Replacing an ink tank When replacing the ink tanks, confirm that the new ink tanks are installed properly. If the ink tanks are not locked into place, paper may not be fed properly, or ink may not be supplied to the print head. Recommended Ink Tanks:

Canon Pixma ip5200. Inner cover open

The inner cover is the part where the CD print tray goes. When you look at the front of the printer you should see CANON written above the output paper tray - just like in the picture next to you post. If you can't see the word - just fold up the flap.
