Go to the following Driver Navigatorwebsite, download and install. Follow the instructions and it should allow you to download and install the correct drivers for your Motherboard. Much easier than trying to find the drivers on the ASUS website.
The driver here is for windows xp it will probably run on you system.
Try also to run window update.
Select global and download the driver (Not the 64 bit version)
The driver needs to be unziped before installation.
You may be able to get a Windows 7 audio driver fromthe ASUS WEB site.

The following audio driver worked for the ASUS P5GV-MX on Windows 7: SoundMAX HD Audio Driver 6.10.02.6585
I found it a website called "TechSpot" SoundMAX HD Audio Driver6 10 02 6585 and it worked like a champ!!! I spent quite a while looking for this solution so I hope this helps someone out!!
The latest XP drivers should do the job. Uninstall the drivers that you already installed.
Unzip the driver files to a temp directory, then instruct the Found New Hardware wizard to search in the temp directory for drivers, or click on Update Driver through Device Manager then point the Wizard to search in the temp directory:
