Same problem, hp photosmart 7660 . plug it in, turn it on, at first the "on" switch light goes green, but after a moment it blinks red and won't work and won't turn off. Don't know what's wrong. If I unplug it and then plug it back it, it does the same thing time after time.Took paper out, put paper back in, checked the ink reservoirs. I've had it for a year or two I think. Hello and Welcome to FixYa! Sir/Ma'am If the Check Print Cartridge message is shown and Red Light Flashing then it means that Either ink Cartridge is not installed properly or the function for detecting the ink level is disabled. For it Make sure that you install ink cartridges at correct position as indicated by the label on the print head holder. Press push mark until ink cartridge click into the place. If you are sure then you have installed ink cartridge properly then try following to stop the flashing of red Light.
Lift the lid to the printer (cartridges are on the right side.)
Turn the printer off, then power it on again.
Unplug the power cable from the back of the printer when the grinding noise starts.
Move the carriage towards the middle of the printer (this procedure may take a couple of tries to get the timing correct.)
Take out the cartridges and close the top cover.
Reconnect the power cord. The power and the resume lights (green and red) should be on.
Open the top cover, reinstall the cartridges, and close the top cover.
Now Turn On the printer, Mostly this issue is resolved by this, But if still you get the message and red light still flash then surely its an issue of Ink Cartridge, your ink Cartridge is defective, You need to change the ink cartridge, Your problem will be solved. do you print CD or plain paper, red light is mean jamed paper or change cartridge. Open the top door >press drop ink symbol> look at printer head show on ink ink tray.
You need to connect the phone to your pc without the battery install
and open up your blackberry desktop manager.....go to application
loader and update the phone's OS , this should correct the problem :)
if it does not work let me know but this method have not failed me yet nor my customers/
The interior light is part of the cartridge optical reader assembly and tells you that it isn't recognising the ink cartridge. Either they are the wrong cartridges or the bar code at the bottom of the cartridge is unreadable. Using a cotton bud dipped in a bit of metho wipe around the red and clear led's ensuring you clean the small slot next to the led's (the reader). Also either clean the barcodes on the cartridge, or change the cartridges.
Usually printer companies do not support refilled cart , as in this the problems lies with cart ,change to original cart or replace the defective cart .
Which Led light is Red ? Ink Button? Open the printer cover then press and release the ink button, printhead will move to the center in which there is an ink out indicator pointing to one of the ink, press and release the ink button several time to determine what other ink/color are out. replace inks and try printing after getting a solid green light on power button...
