Question about Samsung Phone PDCSLCD12B

Samsung DCS system

Hi I have a Samsung DCS-816 system and need to allow one extension to be able to set up a divert fo all calls to an external number.

Can anyone advise how to do this?

I have advised the users to try keying in 601 + number which works on internal extns but doesn't work on an external number prefixing with a 9 for external.

Any advice appreciated.

Regards

You need to make sure that the inbound calls are set to ring at an extension and not a group, this acn be done on MMC 714

Does the prostar 816 plus have caller id?

It does have caller ID however you need to check that your call carrier is supplying inbound CLI. check on your handset that it is set to show this by pressing TRANSFER 119 then use the volume key to set it to show name or number first. check out http://www.abbeytelecom.com it has loads of Samsung DCS programming and training videos, I posted one as a example for you

It's not called a Prostar in the UK but is known as the Samsung DCS 816. The follow clip will show you how to add to the system speed dial directory. But you can find 60+ handy clips at www.AbbeyTelecom.com

Our samsung system only rings on one telephone- how do I get it to ring on all phones and lines

To change the ringing on a prostar 816 you first need to be at a display set (doesn't matter what the extension number is).
with the handset down enter #20 the screen should say MMC DISABLED
enter in 1 2 3 4 1 # (that enables programming)
enter in #62 the screen should say day ring assn
press the line you wish to program
press the buttons for the extensions that you wish to ring (the ones in the right next to the handset)
press # when finished with the line
repeat steps 2 through 5 for the remainder of the lines you wish to change
press # when finished.

Can't find code to add transfer to soft keys on prostar 816

Transfering on a Prostar 816 is done by using the DSS buttons on the right hand side of the phone. This is accomplished by having your outside call in progress and pressing the DSS button of the persons extension you wish to transfer it to. If you want to screen the call wait for the extension to answer otherwise hang up and the call will be transfered. Transfer keys were only placed on the 800 series sets and was a non movible button.
hope that helps

FORWARDING CALLS TO EXTERNAL NUMBER

Hi you should be able to do this by pressing either 601 + 9- ( external number) or 605 +-9 (external number) please be aware that forwarding to external only works if the inbound caller is going to an extension and not a group. I have posted a video which will help, there are another 63 like this covering Samsung Prostar DCS issues at www.abbeytelecom.com

Samsung DCS 40 Prostar

Could you repost your question and tell me the type of phone system you have, you say it is a DCS 40 Prostar but I do not recall the 40, only the 408, 612 and 816. also MMC 601 is for station groups and 603 is for trunks. I'll be glad to help if you can clear this up for me. Thanks, .....Mike

Some of the buttons don't work and the Hold function doesn't work

The Prostar 816 phone system can only use Prostar 816 phones. There is a rare larger Prostar system that can use other Prostar phones along with the 816 but typically was only installed in situations where more than 16 phones were needed. If you are looking at non-prostar phones like the Samsung DCS 12 then they certainly will not work.
