Replacement parts I need to replace arm rest pads only, can I do so?

You will need to remove the door handle inside and the door kick pad along with the arm rest and any switches on the door. To remove the kick pad remove the screws around the pad an the switches along with the door handle and arm rest once that is completed just push up on the kick pad and it will come out of the track at the top of the door and then you can see the motor inside the door.

The center arm rest is attached to the console by 2 small Hex cap screws. The arm rest and intermediate slide panel are attached to the same hinge assembly with rivets.
to replace the upper arm rest, 1st remove the assembly from the console by removing the 2 hex screws this will allow you to work outside of the vehicle on a work bench. 3 rivets hold the arm rest to the hinge. You will need to drill out the rivets using a 1/8" drill bit. and install the replacement arm rest using new 1/8" pop rivets.

depending on the type of arm rest you might have a look on eBay for " wheelchair arm rest" there are several universal types, they are often far cheaper to buy a new pair that to just replace one with original genuine parts.

depending on what chair you have the cheapest option is to try and get a generic replacement, search eBay for "wheelchair arm rest" they start from around 10 UK pounds or you might be able to find one from the same make and model.
if not then you need to search the web for the make and model of chair you have followed by "parts arm rest" so if you have a pride jazzy 1121 you would search google for "pride jazzy 1121 parts arm rest" that should point you to a replacment, if no joy there another option is to contact the makers, again search for maker to find contact info, or look for a dealer that sells the make of chair you have.

You can buy replacement clips at NAPA or any parts store close to you. They are cheap and easy to replace.

You could have a worn idler arm and pitman arm. The idler arm is more common to wear out before the pitman arm so start with that and have the front end aligned. Inspect all your front end steering components for damaged and worn out parts that need to be replaced.

You require a specialty tool for doing this. Chances are you will also need to replace the clips that break during the procedure. First though, you must remove the arm rest. Look for any roundish plastic plugs that are consealing the bolts. Remove the arm rest first, pop the clips with the clip tool available for any auto parts supply place. Disconnect cables at connectors as they restrict you as you go. There is no need to cut anything and lable the arm rest bolts because they will be of differing lengths. Count on breaking a few plastic clips though. Good luck and please let me know.

three 10mm nuts hold mirror on under bezel small set screw bottom of bezel along with a philleps screw can sometimes wiggle bezelupwards and you can remove without removeing door pad.if pad must be removed loosen screws by door handle arm rest look for plugs with small screwdriver remove plugs and screws tap pad upwards with hand reverse procdure to complete.

It sounds like the blade brakes are worn out. If you look under neath the frame,where your feet rest, you sound see an arm with a brake pad on it.
It may be time to replace them.
