How do you know what guage ernie ball strings are it just says regular slinky 2146?

Usually the guage of the strings is defined by the first string. In other words, light strings are usually 11s. 12s are heavier and 13s are heavier still. The string set that you list is a 12 which is a medium grade. The medium grade is also called regular as opposed to lights (11s) or heavy (13).

Hope this helps,
Dan

Looking for inexpensive shortwave antenna for use with Grundig S350 AM/FM Shortwave Radio

Simple wire can make a great antenna, and it's relatively inexpensive. I've had the best shortwave and AM reception thus far using a long loop (actually a rectangle) of copper wire as an antenna (but folks shouldn't try a loop with some radios designed for use with powered antennas without inserting an appropriate capacitor in series). If you do try wire, you would want to try to make the loop shape as large as possible, and connect the ends of the wire to your radio's antenna connectors.

Good strings. Ernie Ball has been around for years. Not only strings but teach yourself books, scores, guitar accessories. The late Jeff Healey only used Ernie Ball Slinky Electric guitar strings. If you haven't listened to Jeff Healey and you thought Jimi Hendrix was good have a listen to this guy and remember he's blind.
Good Luck

Grandma's nylons wrapped around the bottom of the agitater

now you need to pull upward firmly but hard.  there are small splines holding the agitator in position. carefull if the agitator has two parts to it as there are usually plastic (dogs)inside which could spring loose if you are not careful.
