Hello when i clean my PS2 i accidentally removed the power ribbon when i inserted it back it is on red light always even if you press the reset button, can you tell me what is wrong and how to fix it.
Does the ribbon look damaged at all, Have you done a continuity test at each contact point of the ribbon, Sounds like the ribbon may possibly have a tear in it? Check and get back to us please.

hello eric i've repaired a few ps2 most of the time it's been down to the power switch if not the power switch then the ribbon cable attach to the switch
if the ribbon cable that goes to the lens came out its gota go back it. has a plastic tab on the top that lifts up and down to lock it in place.... If its the eject/reset button the ribbon might not be in all the way
This is normal just press the button that is red and it will work like normal again! you will have to always do that because that is off because there is two ways to turn it off at the back and holding the green light till it turns red
Use a pair of needle nose pliers and grip the connection end of the Ribbon cable by the hard plastic piece. Insert this cable in the second connector from the front. The connectors are located under the right edge of the CD drive.
There is no tear at all
