Have you tried a different HDMI cable?

When you slide the switch back, you should wait 3 sec and then let it go the green light will come on - if screen stays blank re- syncing you e-reader to your computor.

Try this, it worked for me
Turn off phone
Remove battery
Wait 10 seconds
Plug in charger
Insert battery
Turn on phone

Parents Sony flat screen did the Same thing. I pulled the plug on the back of the TV for a minute plugged back in wha la! Problem solved
