We turn on the TV on, no video or audio and the green light is on. We cannot turn off the TV when we push the power button on the TV set and also the remote.

Call Polaroid and they will send out a new control panel.  They will schedule a tech to come out and switch out the control panel or you can do it yourself - pretty simple to do.

Green Power light always on..when on control pushed light used to get very bright and tv came on. Now standby on, but when on/off pushed, nothing happens

Try unplugging the TV and leaving it unplugged for about 2-3 minutes. Plug the TV back in and make sure the StandBy light turns on. Try clicking the power button and see if the TV powers up. While you are at it, be sure to replace the batteries in your TV remote (if you are using one)... this could be why you cannot power the TV on.

Jvc lt-37e488 will turn on with just a black screen and no noise. THe menus cannot be accessed and the the buttons will not even work to turn off the tv.

You have either a power supply board malfunction or a main board gone bad. If the voltages from the power supply board are all present and correct, then the main board is at fault. TV Parts Universal TV Stands DLP Chips ShopJimmy You can get parts here.

My tv won't turn on anymore. The power light and the opc light blink twice at the same time and then the opc blinks once and it keeps doing that. Please help!

Hi

Make sure the AC cord is not loose or disconnected. Check to ensure the cord is firmly plugged into the outlet at one end, and firmly connected to your television at the other end. The AC cord connects to the television about midway across the back of the set, near the bottom of the back panel. The hole for the AC connection is shaped like a figure eight. Try powering up the TV with the cords firmly connected.

Check the "Main Power" to ensure it is on. Locate the button on the top of the television among the "Volume" and "Channel" buttons. Press the button to switch the television on. If the "Main Power" button is off the remote will not turn on the television. Wait to see if pressing "Main Power" will activate the TV.

Press "TV Power" on the remote control to power up the TV from stand-by mode. If the power light on the front of the television glows red when you press "TV Power" on the remote, press the "Main Power" button on top of the television to remove the TV from stand-by. If the TV is accidentally in stand-by mode it may not come on when pressing certain buttons.

Check the circuit board. If your set still won't turn on and you hear a clicking noise when you plug it in, you most likely have a defective circuit board.

Its a tiny 42'' plasma tv which was working perfectly until my grandaughter dropped the remote control and the tv went off and now wont switch on even though the stand by light is on.It wont even turn on...

Try removing the batteries from the remote control, as a button may be stuck and is causing a repeated signal to be sent to the TV, possibly overriding any manual button actions.

Also unplug the TV for a few minutes and then plug it back in. You said that it wouldn't turn on when pressing the channel buttons on the TV, try the power button instead.

Thanks,
Chris

TV will not come on by using the remote control

I think I have an answer. This comes from someone from the Geek Squad. She said that somehow the TV was turned off at the TV and not the remote and that has reset the system . Try pushing the "STAND BY' button and everything should work as normal. I will find out for myself in the morning. Good luck to us both !

Code #'s for remote control recognition

Turn on the TV, and the Direct TV receiver, then press MENU on the remote, go to the bottom and select PARENTAL, FAVs and SET UP(press the select button in the remote), then go to SET UP and press select, then go to REMOTE, there you will see all the steps to program your Direct TV remote not only for the tv, the dvd player and the home theater as well. Also you will see ALL the codes for a lot of brands of devices including your TV brand. NOTE: don't go to option on the remote that says "RF/IR", you don't need to adjust that.
