My Motorola h700 bluetooth will not pair

I dropped my motorola h700 a small distance(of a couch to the floor) and now it will notpair with my Tmobile sidekick 3.  I close the boom and hold the talk button for 5 seconds and it lights up purple. Then when I open the headset boom it will not stay light. So it never enters pairing mode.  Please Help.

Motorola H700 will not enter pairing mode. The purple light will only stay lit until I open the boom then goes off.

  • tanhai99 Apr 18, 2008

The user guide instructs user to open the boom and the light will turn purple. Well, it didn't happen that way for me. I folded it back in (turned it off), pressed the button for a couple seconds, then the light turned purple. Then I immediately opened the boom. The light remained purple and stayed in pairing mode. I finally got it paired up with my LG Shine.

This trick is not in the user guide's trouble shooting but it works for me.

Rest assured that the drop did not cause this.  There is a general problem with these H700's.

Press the multifunction button until the led turns purple.  Keep it pressed in while you flip the arm open.  The arm needs to be kept fully extended to keep it in pairing mode.  If you succeed in positioning the arm correctly, a steady blue light will be on.  If the light goes off...close the arm and try again.

While in this mode...execute the pairing procedure from your should find the H700.  The default key is "0000".

I dropped mine when i was on top of the ladder. it would not pair afterwards. i opened it up and found that a metal contact piece is missing. it is for when you opened the boom it pushes the metal piece to the cicuit board that activates it. so i made a replacement piece out of reynolds wrap:) I fold it into a little square and placed between the push lever and the circuit board contact for the boom. now it paired like normal.

Anyone want to sell their broken h700 to me? For a $1.....?

I have a T-mobile Wing and H700C. I finally got mine to work by pressing the headset control button twice. It made the blue light come on, after the purple light, now I have a partnership between my phone and headset.

Mine keep showing it is paired, but no icon goes on my palm treo 755..shows in trusted devices, gives me a paired message, but no connection...not paying 90$ for another one! this is about 4 months old!

Mine is charged fully (Green light on), but when i unplug it from the charger and try to pair it, the Purplr light never lights up. The arm is closed.

Any ideas?

How to use my H700 after charging ?

If tv is bluetooth capable, look under menus and pair with H700.
Phones if initially paired will simply need to have bluetooth 'active' (as by default it is usually off). - If not pair - you will need to go through menus under 'settings' to pair with the H700 (also at this point indicate that the H700 is 'trusted device').

H700 will pair, but won't connect.

To successfully pair the Motorola 700 with the Centro:
Select Bluetooth from the Home screen.
Select "On".
Under "Visibility", select "Visible".
Now click "Setup Devices".
Click "Hands-free Setup"
On the Motorola earpiece, with the flip-out mouthpiece in the closed position, press and hold the multi button until ring around it glows purple. Flip open the mouthpiece.
Now click "Next" on the Centro's screen.
The Centro should find the Motorola. Hold the Motorola to the right side of the phone if you have difficulty getting the Centro to find it.
Once found, click the Motorola H700 listed in the window and click "OK".
The Centro will ask for the device password. Enter 0000. Be sure that the checkbox for "Add to trusted device list" is checked. Click OK.
The two devices should now be paired to work together and the Motorola's multi button should rapidly blink blue; NOW click "Done".
You will be taken to the Trusted Devices screen.
You will see your Motorola in the list of Trusted Devices. Click on it to highlight it, if it is not already highlighted.
Click the menu drop-down key (located to the right of the ALT key).
You will now see a drop-down at the top of the screen that says "Connect". Click the "palm" center button on your Centro.
NOW the two devices are connected. The phone name will now be bold, and a small Bluetooth icon will appear to the right of it.
When you click the Phone key on your Centro, you will see a tiny blue headphone symbol now at the top right of the screen where the Bluetooth icon used to be.

To use the earpiece:
Flip it open and hang it on your ear.
Dial the number you want to call on the phone.
Press the multi button once and now you should be connected via the earpiece.
To receive a call, when your Centro rings, press the multi button once.

It took me a few hours to figure it out. Hopefully you can do it in a few seconds.
