First SSID(Service Set IDentifier) is what Identifies your WLAN network. When you add a router, you establish a WLAN. Each item you connect to your router must use the same SSID. You will be asked to make a unique network name, when you set up your router. This will be the SSID of your network. If you go online for you router menu, you should be able to find that information in you configuration menu. NOT to be confused with the IP address of your computer.

Want to get my Cisco guest password

Open Cisco Connect then click Guest access. The password is displayed under the Password header.

To go to the Guest access option using Cisco Connect, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Select Guest access at the main screen of Cisco Connect

In the Guests access settings window, you can enable or disable the Allow guest access, change and check the password for the guest network, or change the number of Total guests allowed.

NOTE: The Guest network name is the main network's SSID with -guest as a suffix. If you want to change the guest network's name, you will need to change the main network's SSID.

N300 wireless router

If you are just looking for the SSID and the password on a NETGEAR router, then all the information should be on the side of the router itself. Most times the SSID are NETGEAR07 or something like that and the password should be right beside that.

Changed password now can"t access router

Your laptop still insists on using the old password that's why it can't connect. Go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Manage Wireless Networks. Select your router's SSID. Right click on it and change Properties > Security > Show characters. The old password that you forgot should appear. You may then change it to the latest one.

You may also click on the wifi signal icon on the lower right corner of your Taskbar, right click on the router's SSID, select Properties > Security > Show characters to reveal the old password you forgot and change it to the latest one.

Forgot my password

Reset the Linksys to default settings using the manual: http://homekb.cisco.com/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=1e97db4854604b0fb5cc8c0d74491e35_19584.xml&pid=96&slnid=3 Reconfigue the SSID and Security. You may want to write down the Security Key (password) for future use. A tattoo is optional, it's up to you.

Forgot my passwod

Open up your router configuration in web browser (usually goes by 192.168.0.1, or refer to your router manual). Then search for wireless LAN setting. Under the network SSID setting, you can see the security type and the password (applied for most router model). You can either view the password there or simply change to a new password.

I have a NETGEAR router and I need the SSID and the type of sceurity. With the password. Can you help

Looks you havent configure your router. To get SSID and security key you have to configure it on your router.

You have to manually assign SSID on your Wireless Settings and Select proper security like WPA or WPA2 and assign preshare key ( security key). After assigning when you search for SSID on your Laptop or wireless computer it will you SSID you configured on your Router if you click on the SSID to connect it will ask you security key, supply the preshared key you configured on router.

If you are very new to router you might need to refer manual
