Sporadically, the cursor jumps to a corner of the screen and erratically moves in a small space. It clicks as if I was tapping the pen to the screen, but I am not. It does not respond to any intervention. I have uninstalled the Wacom Driver, restarted, and hoped for it to be fixed... but it still does the same thing.
I know that HP provided a fix for the 2740p, but it is not compatible for the 2730p. Anyone have any ideas?
Have you tried a usb mouse ?? as if that works it will be the touch pad is playing up. you can disable it and use a wireless mouse or usb one. as it would be cheaper then replacing the touch pad.
I have the same problem and is too annoying, when i tried to move the screen it stops jumping even if its a solution I think is really uncomfortable to manage write and work like this...

Are you trying to move the cursor with the trackpoint, a usb mouse, or the pen? Have you tried restarting your computer? Restarting would likely solve the problem. If you can't move the cursor to the start menu, you can open the start menu with the windows key, use the arrow keys to navigate to the power options. Use enter to select the power options and shut down or restart the computer. If this does not work, press and hold the power button for 5 or 10 seconds to force the computer to shut down.
What happened before this occurred? Did you install any programs or updates recently, or change any settings on your computer?
I had been trying to locate how to access the recovery options for the XO Vision XTAB tablet as well. Mine would show the XO Vision logo on start-up and then show a cursor in the upper left corner for a few seconds and then showed "ANDROID" a little further down and to the right of the upper left hand corner with a flashing cursor right behind it.
I was finally able to get into the recovery options press HOME, VOLUME UP, & POWER at the same time and hold for about 6 seconds or so. You need to let go before the XO Vision logo goes away. Wait until the logo goes away and a cursor should display in the upper left hand corner and then you'll get to the recovery / update options screen.
Use the VOLUME UP / DOWN keys to navigate the menu and then you'll press MENU to select the option. After that let it run through its processes until it completes. My attempt was unsuccessful at a factory reset and I'm still not sure how to fix it, however, you may have better luck.
Open the configuration panel (Classic view). Click on the mouse icon. Open the Cursor Options tab. Put a mark in the CheckboxHide Cursor during typing. You can also chek the box Show mouse cursor when I press thye CTRL key. You can also reduce the speed of the movement of the cursor. All these options are on the same TAB.

Since you are working on a Tablet PC I'd start by disabling the Table PC Input Service..most people never use it and it will make your system much more stable overall, and may solve the cursor problem. see this article for help on how to disable it..

I?ve had a couple of Dells laptops do this and without fail the cause was flaky touchpad/mouse drivers. I would suggest going to the Acer website downloading the latest drivers for your mouse. If that fails try removing the driver and running with the Windows default drivers, that what I?ve been doing successfully on my company laptops for several years now.
Acer driver download page, the web site is really slow so be prepared for a long wait.
The closest match was the C300 so I?m assuming these are generic drivers for the 300 series. Use the pull down menus and select the following:
-Select Product Line = Notebook
-To the right of that select TravelMate C300 (way at the bottom)
-Make sure English is selected and click on the search button. Once the drivers page opens go down towards the bottom and load for TM C300 touchpad drivers
