Question about Televison & Video
ON MY TELEVISION SCREEN IT SEEMS EVERYTIME WE CHANGE TO ANOTHER CHANNEL IT SHOWS A BLACK SCREEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TELEVISION BUT AT THE SAME TIME WE CAN SEE PICTURES ON THE SIDE, BUT EVERTIME TO REMOVE THE BLACK SCREEN IN THE MIDDLE WE HAVE TO HIT DISPLAY, THIS IS EVEN ON THE SHOWS THAT WE HAVE RECORDED. I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE, MAYBE WE HIT A BUTTON WHEN WE WERE TAKING A NAP AND DID NOT REALIZE THIS.
NORMALLY WE TURN THE TELEVISION OFF BUT THIS TIME WE LEFT IT ON.
YOUR HELP IS APPRECIATED. OUR TELEVISION IS A COMBO VIDEO CASSETTE RECORDER AND DVD VIDEO PLAYER.
I HOPE YOU CAN HELP US CLEAR THIS BLACK SCREEN IN THE MIDDLE.

I am sorry to have to tell you this, but the only way to change the recording speed is with an original remote. If you look on the original replacement remote link I posted here you will see the SP/EP selector, this is to change the recording speed. Good Luck. http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=gmi&smodel=DS13TVR90&brand_pn=FISHER_DS13TVR90&mode=large&uid=11755283300930

A law suit was filed against Samsung for the SC models including your D23. in accordance with the class action settlement, Samsung has agreed to repair or replace the effected models for zero cost including shipping and insurance. visit this website http://www.samsungclassaction.com/7.html or call Samsung repair @ there 1-800 number. Samsung also agreed to refund your money if you paid to have the unit fixed yourself or if you purchaced another camcorder to replace the faulty samsung. I called and they e-mailed me a UPS label to print out and shipping costed nothing. takes about two weeks for the repair and then it will be delivered @ your door like new:)

The TV should be on channel 2, 3, or 4 to work correctly. There might be a small switch on the back of the VCR that lets you select the channel that it wil play back on.
Also, look on the remote control for the VCR and see if there is a button labeled TV/Video, and press that while something is playing. This switches back and forth between the TV signal and the VCR signal and it could solve your problem.
