I'm not sure why but when the monitor is turned on, every pixel goes right to white. I figure it's probably a short in a transistor, but i'm not sure which one it could be. Any info would be greatly apreciated, and thank you ahead of time :)

This issue is most likely caused by a capasitor doing bad. There is no easy fix. It must be disembled and the power supply repaired. If done properly, it should cost somewhere between $ 50 to $125. But it may do it again as the Pwoer supply is a known issue for this monitor. Sorry.
Power supply filter caps will be he first thing to check, look for leaking/bulging tops.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also. http://www.badcaps.net http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague
The white screen tells me that the display cable (inside your monitor) may be unattached or broken. The color bands if they are vertical or horizontal lines tell me that your display cable needs to be replaced.
So overall replace your display cable. If this doesn't entirely fix the problem your logic board (inside the monitor) needs to be replaced.
