Question about Nortel Business Series Terminal T7208 - digital phone

I have a Nortel T7208 can't change main greeting

I have a Nortel T7208, I can't access the main greeting in the voice mail. I know how to check and change voice mail on each phone but not the main greeting.

To change the main greeting you need to get into admin programing F983 your also going to need a 7310 or 7324 or a T7316. You have to use the buttons under the LCD screen to navigate after getting into admin press AA
Press GRTG
Press GRTG again
and usually 1 is set for day
and 2 is set for night
press 1 then ok
Press REC.

To access your voice mail remotely, call into the voicemail and wiat for either the main greeting or your mailbox greeting to answer the line, press ** followed by your mailbox number password and then the # key (ex. **2251234#).

To access your voice mail remotely, while a greeting is playing (either the mail greeting or your own mail box greeting) press ** followed by your mail box number, password followed by the # ( ex. **,221,1234,#).

You need to go in to voice mail admin .
Feature 983 1020000
press AA
press Greeting
press greeting again
enter 1 for greeting 1
this should be your main greeting it could any greeting from 1- 20 , it depends on how it was set up but that should work fine .

The short version of getting to your greeting is:
Feature 981 or open voicemail key
your password
"8"for admin
"2" for greetings
"1" for record
"1" for primary greeting
"'1" to record your greeting
at the tone record your greeting
"#" to end recording
after you record press 1 to listen 2 to retry or # to accept
press "rls" key when finished

IF you know the password for the mailbox then log into the voicemail by dialing the Stratagy access code, after Stratagy answers dial * , then your user ID mailbox number plus #, then your security code plus #. The User Main Menu plays, press 2 to change your greeting, the Select Greeting Menu plays, press the greeting number, the Record Menu plays, press 2 to record your greeting, Record greeting, as soon as you finish press #, the Record Greeting Menu plays, press 1 to review or 2 to re-record. Press 9 to save and return to the Select Greeting Menu and 9 again to return to the User Main Menu, hang up at this point.

first off the T7208 is the phone model and need the ksu model number to know what system you are in. But you can always call that extension and if not in office it should go straight to voice mail (if any) then leave mssge to call back
