where is the pump & filter on my Kitchenaid clothes washer - how do I access it? If there is a filter, how do I clean it?

Their may be something in the line, leading to the pump restricting the flow to the pump.

We have a new whirlpool refrigerator....there is watering collecting in the bottom of the freezer side and it is running out onto the floor..do we need a repairman or is there something we can adjust to...

Sometimes the drain can clog with ice. If this is it - simple fix. Empty the freezer and find the drain. Put hot water in the drain with a turkey baster or try using a hair dryer to thaw the ice and let the water drain. A small amount of water drainage through this drain is normal. The water sits in a tray underneath and evaporates helped by heat from the compressor. If the drain plugs, the water will build up in the bottom of the freezer and become an ice block.

I have WD860 ultimate hotpoint washer/dryer and the water won't drain properly after cycle and won't dry as the water sits in the bottom of drum, also the cycle times take longer than displayed ALOT...

The Filter needs cleaning sits inside sump hose with large clip secured to bottom of the drum/

Bosch shx33a starts, fills, then stops. Drains OK when forced to end cycle.

I know this may sound very silly but i had the same problem with mine and all i had to do was pull it out a bit as the drainage pipe at the back was only slightly sqashed against the cupboard but it does matter

Hoover OPHS712DS is showing on the front panel EOS? Not washing the load at all? Not always draining either but I have checked the filter it is clear. Any ideas

Some hoover use a non return valve located in the sump hose next to bottom of drum The non return ball gets gummed up and jams ,,making no water to flow from pump. This is one good reason pump will not run.....

There is still water in the drum even though I have opened and emptied thru the drain plug in the front. The machine gives error message "drainage fault" as the two bottom LEDs are blinking.

If your Hotpoint washer is a similar design to mine, you'll not have a user-accessible pump filter, so - presuming you're happy doing it and the machine is unplugged from the electricity of course - I rectified by the following:

1. Switched the machine to 'pump-out' and got rid of as much water as possible.
2. Unplugged and disconnected the pump-out pipe from the house drainage and drained off as much additional water as possible into a bowl by gravity.
3. Removed the panel at the bottom of the back of the washer to expose the pump, the bottom of the drum and the main washer motor.
4. On the right-hand side, you'll see the pump with the grey (in my case) drain pipe and a wide black rubber pipe connected directly to the bottom of the drum by an adjustable metal clip
5. The wide black pipe attached to the drum contains a ball-filter and is probably the source of your problems - undo the clip (watching for water of course; though none was spilt when I did it) - and lower it slightly to reveal the filter and - hopefully - the odd sock or so!
6. Clear the filter of the obstructions (the plastic ball can be lifted out by the way to aid doing this)
7. Make sure the ball is back in place and connect the wide black pipe back up to the bottom of the drum - ensure the clip is secure
8. Replace the machines back panel
9. Connect the drain pipe back up to the house drainage
10. Do a test wash !

Hope that helps - in practice it took about 10 minutes all together and is pretty easy.

You will need a specialist to come and fix that. You might mess up your whole drainage system doing it by yourself.

NO, there is a small blockage within the drainage system. check the following to combat this issue.

1. Clogged drain line or water pump
Check to see if there's something stuck inside the pump or the drain hose connected to the pump (pump is usually located at the bottom and towards the back of the washing machine).

2. Water Pump
If the drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump. Note: if you have a belt driven washer, check the belt(s) for cracks, as this would be a perfect time to replace the belt(s) if needed.

More then likely that your pump or the drain hose has a slight blockedge you can kill 2 birds with 1stone here you can get rid of the water and see if the pipe is blocked by taking the pipe and placing it low to the ground into a bucket if the water comes out slow then you will have a blockedge and your pump will be ok now make sure you pull the plug out pull the asher out now tip it backwards just enough so you can see the pump at the back undue the clip which holds the pipe onto your pump now there will be some water that will leak out once pipe is free you can pure water down it by putting it onto the tap if it comes out fast then the block is in the pump
