SOURCE: worked fine last night, discovered it this morning

the beeping is coming from the cpu.

1 unplug pc
2 pull out ram chips
3 use an eraser to clean the gold, yes thats gold

what happens is the gold on the ram oxidizes and does not connect properly and can go bad but cleaning it with an eraser sometimes works. take a cpu that is working unplu it pull the ram and you will see the same thing your other pc is doing.

4 reinstall ram (correctly)
5 boot up cpu

Gateway Xp tower lights turn on, but monitor does not respond; it reads "no signal"

"No signal found" is a generic display from a monitor that is not receiving a signal from the input cable. Your tower, however, may or may not be functioning. If you have another source to connect the monitor to (laptop or other PC) you can try that. Most monitors have a "menu" button. You could press that to see if a menu is displayed on the monitor, That will indicate that the monitor is working as a stand-alone. It will also indicate which input source is being used. If the input source is incorrect, then no signal is being received from the incorrect source. As far as the tower is concerned, the are a myriad of causes for no signal to the monitor. It could be unbootable due to a hardware failure at the mainboard level or the power supply. If you hear a single beep then the main board has passed it's diagnostic testing successfully (memory is ok, chips and CPU are ok). If you hear more than a single beep, the main board is having a problem. If a single beep occurs, them most likely it is the graphics controller. any other failure would be displayed on the monitor. If the graphics controller is on the main board, then you will need to install a new graphics card, bypassing the main board's controller. Was this a working system at one time?

Gateway 2005 gx7022e pc was running fine and now out of no where when I turn it on it beeps three times and monitor says no signal and goes black. The tower itself is running very loudly

1)check weather the ram is properly installed on board or not
or reconnect it

2) or clean the ram with eraser n check it out

3) if still its not working den remove the ram from board n switch on the pc n check for beeps if u r getting beeps then motherboard is ok n ram has problem den replace the ram

Emachines el1200 will not start up. When power button is turned on...it will blink shortly after ( no beeps ). It will not turn on monitor

Hello,
As mentioned that when you turn on the system the lights on the system turns on and the monitor goes off, unplug the VGA cable from the system tower and turn on the monitor and check if you get signals on the screen if it shows you some color bar or a massage, that means your monitor is good. IF not then there is problem with the monitor . get it repaired or replace it. If that is not the case you would need to unplug all the external devices connected to the tower and try, IF not then you need to open the tower and check for the green light on the motherboard if it comes on or you can try reseting the memory card or if you have an video card, then you will have to remove the card and try the build in one .

Monitor not connecting to tower. it is plug in to the tower. but shows that it is not connected.

three things can be the issue here:

1. No signal from the tower (VIDEO CARD)
2. Bad cable or bent pin on the d-sub 9-15 pin vga connector.
3. Bad signal board inside the monitor itself.

Things to try:

1. another computer.
2. check the signal cable for bent pins.
3. check the video card in the tower.

Before you "think its a bad monitor" you always want to assume the computer first as computers are 9 times out of 10 why the monitor is not coming on such as BIOS errors, Bad video card, bad power supply etc etc.

My monitor does not light up but just clicks

if ur monitor is not coming up... check uplugging the monitor cable from the tower.... if u receive a msg on screen "No input signal" or "No VGA Signal" then Monitor is working fine... if not received monitor is not working properly.

if Monitor working... open the tower and remove memory (RAM) and switch on the pc... u should get beep codes.. if u dint get it.... Motherboard gone bad....else... try inserting RAM in other slot... even then its not lighting up...RAM problem or RAM solt problem..

Black screen

The beeps are probably BIOS beep error codes. Through a series of long and short beeps the computer communicates computer problems that occur early in the startup processes. It's likely the problem isn't your monitor but something in your computer box itself. If you can tell us what the pattern is we can start diagnosing your problem. We'll also need to know the manufacturers name, the specific model computer you have and what operating system you are running.
