Question about LG enV VX9900 Cellular Phone

Inside keyboard locked

The inside keyboard buttons do not function. The only keys that work are message key, contact key, skeaker key and end key.

    Took battery out three time and that didn't solve problem. Took phone back to store where I purchased it and they replaced it at no charge.

Fn key packard bell
On some keyboards there is a "F Lock" (Function Lock) Key. On my Microsoft wireless keyboard it is on the Function key row at the far right end past the Insert and Scroll Lock Keys. It is a double-action key. Press it once and the function keys F1-F12 work; press it again and the alternate legend on those keys will perform.

Blue function keys

Theres no function key lock, just the blue Fn button on the lower left corner of the keyboard.

If you cant get any of the function keys to work and the keyboard just thinks that you are pressing the standard button without pressing Fn, then this could be a fault with the contacts in the Fn key.

What is the fn key
I suspect this is a message you're seeing on a notebook, computer or other device that has a keyboard. The "Fn" key is the "Function" key. When the "Fn" key pressed at the same time another key is pressed - in this case the F4 key, a different result will occur when compared to pressing the F4 alone. This works the same way as when you use the SHIFT key and a letter key - instead of a lower case letter, you get an upper case letter.

Typically, the keys on the keyboard are labeled in a light color. Keys that have a second purpose or function, will have a second label printed in a different color / slight smaller text or both. This label may be text or an icon or graphic. In order to invoke the second function of the F4 key, you will need to inspect the keyboard for the key that has is labeled with "Fn" text on it. Here's what a typical "Fn" key looks like:

My caps wont turn off
Try this. Press: Start>Accessories>Accessibility>On Screen keyboard. Try turning it off from there. If that doesn't work:
1. Choose Start'Settings'Control Panel and double-click Regional and Language Options.
2. In the Languages tab, click the Details button.
3. In the Settings tab, you should see a button called Key Settings. It may be grayed out. If it is, click the Add button and add another keyboard layout (it doesn't matter which one). Press OK.
4. Back in the Settings tab, click to make sure your original keyboard is highlighted and press the Key Settings button.
5. Now under To turn off Caps Lock, click the radio button next to Press the Shift key. Click OK.
6. Click OK twice more to exit the other two dialog boxes.

The keyboard has a feature (and associated button) called F-Lock. By default, when the computer boots, F-Lock is turned on. In the F-Lock mode, rather than sending the standard key commands for the function keys, the keyboard sends special alternate commands (like print for F7 and save for F8) that are configured in the iTouch program. In order to force the keyboard to send the standard function key commands, you must TURN OFF F-Lock by pressing the F-Lock button! Oh, and by the way, there are no indicator lights on the keyboard, and the F-Lock button is an always up momentary button - just like the keys on the keyboard, so there is no way to tell what state it is in, other than by pressing it and then pressing an F key to see what happens!

This should solve your problem. Just turn off the F-Lock Mode.

I have an Asus Eee PC 1005PEB, my "Fn" F3, F4, F7, F8, F9, F10, F11, F12 do not respond, while the F buttons work well by themselves, they do not respond with the Fn key, is this software issues ????...

The keyboard has a feature (and associated button) called F-Lock. By default, when the computer boots, F-Lock is turned on. In the F-Lock mode, rather than sending the standard key commands for the function keys, the keyboard sends special alternate commands (like print for F7 and save for F8) that are configured in the iTouch program. In order to force the keyboard to send the standard function key commands, you must TURN OFF F-Lock by pressing the F-Lock button! Oh, and by the way, there are no indicator lights on the keyboard, and the F-Lock button is an always up momentary button - just like the keys on the keyboard, so there is no way to tell what state it is in, other than by pressing it and then pressing an F key to see what happens!

Laptop Certain Keys Non Responsive on keyboard
if it was just water ...shut it down and blow with cool air from a hair dryer until it will work ...not with hot air cause it has some plastic sheets inside..just let it dry ...and will work ,,if it was something else ..with sugar ..like beer..juice or so...it will need opening and clean well and dry and after that will work ..if it has permanent damages needs a keyboard replacing ...
meanwhile if it loosing its functions...just connect a usb based kayboard and use it instead..until replacement ..if the functions will not came after drying ..but if it was just water will get back after it will dry completeli and no longer make false contacts/..

how to transfer text from LG x-pression to computer I want to transfer my text messages to my computer and have tried everything I could think of. I called LG tech (supposibly)and he couldn't find anything either. Said there is actually no way to do it. I do have a SD card but I can't get the messages to move there either. The phone was set to save to phone I just changed that to save to memory card. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks This is making me crazy.
