Pioneer pdp-5070pu HDMI port 5 has a megenta hue to it. All other HDMI ports and component ports are fine. What board might need to be replaced?

If I try to use the HDMI port number 5 on the TV the image has a strong magenta cast to it. All other HDMI ports work fine as do the component input ports as well as composite video. What board part numbers would have failed?

The main board that has the HDMI ports on it. The numbers can be taken from the board itself. Once the board is replaced, you'll have to go thru all the setup menu's because the memory is on that board too.

I cannot get the Input 3 HDMI port to work. The Input 3 Componet videoworks, but when I unplug the componet video and put in HDMI port nothing works. I do have something else in the HDMI Input 1 port...

Hi.

To start ensure that each time you connect or disconnect the HDMI ports both TV and connected device are off.

Also ensure that HDMI input is active, as detailed here.

HDMI connectors carry voltage, and connecting the HDMI cable while TV or device is on may easily damage the HDMI port, making it unusable.

The HDMI 3 and Component 3 are separate input. The component input may work, and HDMI port may still be defective.

To test the port do the following:

Disconnect TV power cord, and connected device (eg. Receiver, DVD etc.).
Leave units disconnected for five minutes.

While power is disconnected, test connecting on port three a device that was previously working on HDMI 1. Also use a cable that you know is working.

Connect back power with HDMI cable already connected. If HDMI 3 is still not detected, then the port is defective.

In that case ring Pioneer at the number listed on the owners manual. This model is often advertised as only two HDMI inputs. Call Pioneer to ensure the third port can be enabled.

Where can I sell a pioneer pdp 5070pu plasma tv for parts?

HI, the best way to do this is to disassemble the set and post all the individual internal parts like the power board and main PCB logic and v boards, on line on a e-bay type of sale forum. this way, you can make more money. if you post the entire plasma screen with the crack as is, you will not get many hits. is will be assumed that it is damage goods.

Breaking this set down and, posting the internal circuitry piece by piece will make you more money in this case. The power supply board will sale for at least 289.00. and the main logic(PCB) will sale for 300 to 350. i would go this route to maximizes your gain.

Cables

Greetings 4mother,

It would really depend on what type of hook up you are using. Most of the time a plasma television would be hooked up with either and HDMI or component cables. Your local store should be able to make a solid recommendation based on the items hooked up to your television such as cable or satellite box, dvd player, etc.

I hope this helps.

Thank you,

Dorothy
