I had the same issue. I am going to replace my scan buffer boards. The upper half of mine works but the lower half is black so I would replace the lower Scan buffer board but in case of future issues I have ordered both upper and lower for $44.
The scan buffer boards are fairly simple to locate. Open up back of tv there are two biffer boards identical. The item or product code on them contain letters either SU or SD (Scan up and Scan down)Look up tv parts and item code you will find a place to order or just get the 1 800 number from tv manufacturer.
hello, you have a half screen what side? the fualt may be a board or a couple of boards it depends what side is off and what part, lower half, half, left or right sides. let me know i will check the results. it is servicable if your electronicaly inclined you can find the fualt by finding a service manual for this set, i have one. if you tell me what side is white and what portion i can tell you what board it is.. hope this helps
When only a half screen is produced, it is usually a upper or lower buffer board, if the top half is blank then it is the upper buffer, and of course if it's the bottom half then it's the bottom buffer board
