Hi, I am trying to reset my 2wire 1800HG router in order to restore to factory default. I reset to factory default on the webpage for the router, and then hit the reset button on the router itself. Now, I have a green power light and an orange broadband link light and nothing else... how do I get the router working again? Please help!!

How can i set up my 2wire 1800hg gateway modem without the disc on windows vista

your 2wire 1800HG modem has the cd-less install or Greenlight technology in it. it will automatically startup once you open a browser, (preferably IE. However, if you don't see it, try pushing the reset button at the back of the unit for 30 sec. open IE, then you will see the installation page.
NOTE: make sure you know what your username and password is... for authentication purpose...

I am trying to connect to the internet using my 2wire modem and it is asking for a password and I do not remeber mines how could I go about conecting?

In order to get your router back to the original settings, you must push in the reset button (usually on the back of the router) for somewhere between 10 and 30 seconds depending on the router. You may need a pin or something small to push in the button, because it can be recessed. Once you have reset the router, the username and password will be changed to the defaults, admin and password, respectively. One thing you must remember is that resetting the router will change all of the router settings back to the factory settings. This means you will lose all of the changes you made since you got the router. Make sure to write down any things you've changed, so you can change them back after the reset. Also, I recommend updating to the latest firmware after the reset.

Lost my network password and cant logon witrh my lAPTOP

You'll have to restore it to factory defaults then logon with the default password and re-configure it. Google the product with the model number for instructions on how to default it and the default password if you don't have the owners manual

2wire 1800HG router keeps resetting

1) Check power cord. 2wire has known issues with power cords being defective. If you have a Multimeter, I would check to ensure the correct voltage and amperage and being delivered to the router first.

2) Need to resolve the "resetting problem" first. Then attack the port forwarding issue.

I have an 1800hg router that wont go to the IP page

If you have a DSL or cable modem with the same ip address, this problem will occur. Disconnect your ISP modem and connect your computer only to your router, and then open the config page, and change the ip address of the router to prevent future issues

2wire IP page won't log in??

If the above doesn't work, try resetting the router back to its factory defaults.  There should be a reset on the router.  Then try the 192.168.1.1 address or 192.168.1.254.

I cant make any download

If could be security software on the PC but I would suggest resetting the router to factory defaults. It should be explained in the manual.

Most routers have a small hole where you can press a button within the hole with the head of a pen to reset it back to factory defaults.

Also there are firmware updates for routers to help with various issues.

Replaced my old 2wire 1800HG with a new one and can't connect it

hi!
first of all, let's try to make the broadband link light turn green. open any browser, go the modem's UI by typing gateway.2wire.net or homeportal/setup on the address bar, follow the onscreen instructions on running the system setup wizard. it should make the broadband link green now. for wireless connection, click on the airport icon, and select on the SSID or network name in the drop down menu. if ssid is not on the drop down menu, click on other. type the SSID in the network name field and wireless security is none. (SSID is the last 3 nos. of the SN)
