TV turns on and changes channels on its own

TV turns on by itself and you'll walk into that room  to find it on.  It also changes channels on its own while you're watching and you can't get back to the one you were watching

Changes channel and will not hold channel. It has also turned on by itself. Turned TV off for 12 hrs. This kept the channel stable for about 30 min.

Keeps changing channel
Check voltage on D12 if below 4.8V then change
Changes channel or volume adjusts by itself
Check S900/1/2 on pcb H1, alternatively this could be due to failure of IC005 (CD4052BCM-FL63) on pcb A

Sony bravia tv constantly changing channels

Is the tv new or has it started to do this recently ?
Try to eliminate the obvious.
Does the remote continue to flash when you release all of the buttons? Is it a stuck button ?

If you cant' see the remote output, try using your smartphone camera. Most phone cameras will capture infrared light ( invisible to the eye). Aim the remote at the camera and see if you can see the flashing light, which is data being sent to the tv. When you release the buttons does the flashing stop ? If so remote is ok

Next turn all of the lights off in the room with the tv. Also turn off any lights that may shine in from other rooms. Try using the remote

If your tv functions normally, you may be getting interference from your lighting. Some LED and CFC fluorescent lights flicker at a rate which may be close to the remote IR output frequency.

If turning off the lights fixes the issue, turn on each light to isolate the issue. Replace the bulbs with ones from different manufacturers.

My hotel changed TV, I bought the Philip 30HF9975/12Z , but what we got is just the screen. Please help me what I need to get to get it working.

I'll assume that you work in a hotel. Do you guys feed a cable signal as is straight to each guest room or do you have you own system (i.e. separate receivers for each channel that are then combined into one trunk)? Do you guys offer a movie purchase option or allow guest to checkout through the TV? What system you guys use would determine what you'll need aside from the screen itself. These things should've been worked out before investing so much money on new TVs.

I have a small magnavox HDTV. I unplugged it to watch it in another room. The next day when I moved it back into the living room I turned it on. Every time I try changing the channel it changes the source...

Is it a multi-function remote? If it is, make sure you've punched the TV button before using it. Also, make sure none of the buttons on the remote or the TV have accidentally been pushed down and are stuck.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. The TV will automatically turn itself off after approximately 15minutes if it is tuned to a vacant channel or a station that completes its broadcast for the day. This feature does not work in VIDEO mode. If the power is cut off while you are viewing the TV, the last mode memory feature will turn the TV on automatically when the power is re supplied. If the power is going to be off for a long time or you are going to be away from your TV, unplug the power cord to prevent the TV from turning on in your absence. You’ll also need to check the swollen/bulged capacitors on the power supply board inside the TV. The TV itself turned it off in the case of any bad capacitors or overheating with the help of built-in sensors. You’ll need to replace the swollen/bulged capacitors. Please also check the power from and to the TV.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

AOC Plasma TV turns on by itself and changes channels non stop.

I have an AOC 32" LCD HDTV and it turns on by itself as well. Tuning is done via my cable box, so the tv is set on HDMI and I don't have the channel changing issue. I as well am trying to figure it out. The only thing I could suggest is perhaps the remote batteries are low and triggering on it's own. Try changing the batteries, or ensure that the remove it in a drawer or other room so that triggering the unit is impossible. Hope that helps.
