A very much high priority specially on the bearing of the motor on the side where the flat belt is driving the saw on. control it the sawblade should have no problem to turn
There is an electrical brake for a short time after release the switch build in the electric field but it has not an electrical-magnet brake like the DW701 miter saw that only released by an electrical activation.
In high priority this should your trouble i think . 1 order number its a 6302V BALL BEARING or equivalent brand can be replaced by your dealer.
Dewallt have many problems on the choosen fan have to short blades and if the fan is melting because of the heat by to long wait for replace then there is only a complete new armature to buy
If you can hear the motor engaging but the blade is not turning, there could be several possible reasons for this issue. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
Check the power supply: Make sure the saw is properly plugged in and the outlet is functioning. You can also try plugging the saw into a different outlet to see if that makes a difference.
Check the blade: Make sure the blade is properly seated and tightened on the arbor. If the blade is loose, it may not spin properly.
Check the belt: If your miter saw is belt-driven, check the belt to make sure it is not loose or broken.
Check the motor: If the motor is running but the blade is not turning, it could be a problem with the motor. Check to make sure the motor is properly connected to the blade and that the motor is running smoothly.
Check the electrical brake: If your miter saw has an electric brake, it may be malfunctioning. You can check this by unplugging the saw and removing the blade. Then, turn the saw on and see if the brake engages. If it doesn't, the brake may need to be replaced.
If none of these troubleshooting steps solve the problem, it may be best to take your saw to a professional for repair.
Some mitre saws have extra windings in the field coil so a possibility is a break in this brake coil another possibility is the switch some have a contact that switches the back emf from the field coil to the brake coil when you release the trigger. And believe or it or not some times changing the brushes affects the braking have seen this a few times on the LS1013.
All blade brakes take a moment to stop the blade. If it were to engage as soon as the switch were released the inertia of the blade would do damage to the saw. Look at videos of your saw on youtube to ensure it is operating the same as others.
The brake on electric motor driven tools is the field & armature. When running the switch provides power to both sides/poles of the field through the brushes and armature. When you release the switch half of the field is powered pulling the armature to a stop. If your bladed continues to spin when the switch is released, you need to replace the switch. The Ridgid part number for the proper switch is 503317000.
Hi, you need to look thoroughly at the casing of the electric motor. Somewhere between the motor and the gearbox is the brake which must be depressed in order to stop the motor from turning. If for some reason you cannot find this brake, use a pair of vise grips and clamp down on the inside of the blade and turn it until it stops. Now you can unbolt you blade.
P.S. make sure you know if the thread is reverse or not!
Good luck.
no fuse, you can checked the brush holder assy by poping the assy out & checked the bronze terminal if broken.if the holder are ok. check for continuity of the field coil main ac coil & brake coil, main are bigger wire the brake are smaller wire.
