Clock/overlay (PN 74009217) has gone once per year since we bought it in 2007...once in 2008...again in 2009. any recall or known issues?

Hi Kellie, sounds like the overlay needs to be replaced. Make n model? Overlays fail in this manner due to use and the ultra cheap materials used in the "tactile switches" sandwiched between thin plastic and conductive plastic sheets. I worked for a large manufacturer of fitness equipment for years, and I assure you this issue is known and not addressed by manufacturers. Good news is the overlay is somewhat easy to replace after disassembling the upper console, as there are "tail connectors" which connect the overlay to the upper board. They are usually "sticky backed" replacements, and removing them often kills the membranes once they are affixed, so be very careful when sticking the new overlay down. Best suggestion is to go to parts house and find a Chilton/Haynes manual for your vehicle. From the diagrams shown online it a bit of a bear to access and may be best left to Dodge dealer. Also, according to online articles, there have been some known issues regarding this vehicles starter system and some recalls.

He guess at the brake switch sensor. Sounded like the ABS switch to me. I would see if he could take the 486 off of the 1890. Also check for recalls and/or warranty, maybe it's a known and covered issue he's not investigating.

if the brush does not rotate when it is in use, chances are the belt is broken. Belts are common to break and should be replaced once a year under normal use. (once a week) and heavier use, more times per year.

If the brush itself is not rotating, meaning you took it out of the machine and it physically does not spin, then you may need to replace the brush with a new one. You can possibly get one at your nearest vacuum repair center.

The F1 error on the Oasis is a known issue. Sears recalled the computer module because it's defective and produces this error along with F71 code errors. Unfortunately, unless your serial number meets their current criteria, they won't honor the recall because it expired on 08/31/2009 for some serial numbers. Best bet is to call and find out if they'll honor it. If you talk nice & originally bought it from Sears, they might. They did for me. But then we had to replace the RPS. Now the stator. This machine is an expensive piece of junk.

You can only access the old unit by removing it from the back of the panel.Some screws and clips (base at the two sides) The clock is usually secured with screws. - remove old unit replace with new - no peel or scrape usually necessary
