I have had this soundboard for 2 years and have never utilized the preset effects feature. I run karaoke. What is the best number to set it on or what is the best settings in general for karaoke. Right now I just use the echo.
Always use echo and reverb, or just reverb for inexperienced singers. If I remember right this is from effect 19 but this is a very inflexible set-up with no control over the effects, just presets. You'll need to listen and decide what is best. You may also try chorus as with a decent effects unit this can be very effective plus a bit of reverb and echo.
Different songs like different effects and we will chop and change even in a single track when live mixing professional acts.

The effects on the PMP powered mixers flash UNTIL you push in on the selector knob. This way you can dial in the next effect number and then push in later to activate when you want it... Could yours possibly be the same technique?
SOURCE: Effects doesnt scroll?
You MAY have to exit the mode first to change it... Try pressing the sync-lock button to exit the mode before changing.
The D2 PROBABLY means "delay 2"... although the documentation is really poor... One has to read between the lines...

The segments are driven by transistors and it may be one of those has failed OR there is bad soldering.
Here is the schematic for the Xenyx 1622 which will have very similar effects display... it is on page 10 of the drawing:

Scroll down to "Get manual" and click to download. IGNORE other download links.
Note that the display is SCANNED and you will not be able to take readings with a meter, only an oscilloscope. But if you know what part of the display is out, you should be able to analyze what part of the drive is missing. There is a digit select strobe and then decoded segment drivers.
