Can you hear any fan or drive sounds? If you don't hear anything at all when you try to turn the laptop on, no little LED's light up, the problem almost certainly isn't related to the hard drive. So if you don't have a live screen, start with the LCD troubleshooting flowchart, and if you don't have any activity at all, start with the power troubleshooting flowchart. Even if the hard drive has failed at the electro/mechanical level and won't spin up, this wont prevent the LED's on the laptop from lighting up, or the LCD from displaying the BIOS information and complaining about the lack of a boot device.
It should be a simple fix. Start your laptop and pay attention to the screen. Press the F12 key (or F11) to enter "SETUP" then find the NUMLOC command and make sure that its DISABLED or OFF. This will turn this option off andyou will only be able to use the number's keys on the top of the keyboard. Be careful when entering SETUP. You don't want to change anything you don't have to.
Could be many things. Let start with a couple of easy ones.1) Unplug charger from computer and outlet, take battery out press power for at least 30 sec. Plug every thing back power on. 2) charger bad won't turn on or charge battery, try diferent charger if don' know how to use a voltmeter. 3) power jack loose or broken. 4) last and worst mother board circuits transitors etc... btw processor, video card or input devices fried. Buy new board from ebay. Don,t fix it. Not worth it. This is Only if laptop gives completely sign of not turning at all. No lights, no hardrive or no working or fan. No signal of life. If couple of lights do turn on it can be the ram or video card, play with ram a bit. Good luck.
Hi there! Depend on the brand of laptops, the position of wireless button is located in different places. Most of the cases, it stays in the front or in the left side of your laptop. It will have the sign or word written to let you know which way to turn on or off the wireless adapter. There is also a wireless light to confirm that the wireless is on or off. And the Fn + Fwireless to turn the wireless adapter on or off too. So you have : when wireless button is set to Off, whatever you do on laptop still not make the wireless working. If wireless button is set to On, you still need to press Fn+Fwireless to turn on the wireless.
I don't know you understand or not because it quite messy explaination. I don't know why all laptops have to have 2 places to turn on and off wireless adapter. One place is enough. Hope this will help. Thanks for reading
You have to unlock the hard drive from within BIOS if you don't want to see that screen again. However, if you don't know that password then the laptop is not going to usable by you. Normally this prevents access to a computer in case someone steals it, since the thief won't know the hdd password and can't unlock it to access any data.
Unless you have a FRU manual for your model and you feel very comfortable taking your laptop I would avoid it and send it out for repair.
If your laptop is restarting I would remove the CPU, clean and put thermal paste and put it back together. You can use canned air to clean many of the parts that you can see.
