My ps3 wont work, when i turn it on its just a blackish grey screen. i was playing in the settings before this happened and pressed on start other os. now i cant get it back to normal the controller wont do anything neither will my keyboard. i have tried holding the power button for 5-10 seconds to restart it, it restarts but with the same problem. Can any1 help, cheers D.

ya i cant get my 40gb ps3 to work i was playin a game it went to a loading screen and it stayed there so i turned it off then turned it back on and now it wont play the game i can still get on the internet though
Have you performed any updates recently? If so, then if a friend of yours has a known working ps3, or if you want to buy one for a backup, see if you can swap hdds for a test. It won't ruin theirs, it's just a test to see if it might have been an update. If it works fine, and you have two sata connectors on your PC's motherboard, then you can format yours with MSDOS on the command prompt and copying your friends files over to yours. You will have to completely format your drive to remove any and all corrupted files. Here's one I found on Ebay
Hey, your screen settings may need to be reset. You can reset your playstation 3 screen settings by first turning of the playstation three, then turning it on by hitting the power button on the console and hold it for 5 seconds. You should hear it beep several times and then it should work.
