Vertical jumping may have a vertical hold issue, horizontal may have a horizontal hold issue. Most older tv sets will have some knobs or adjustable screws for vertical and horizontal hold. Turn your set on and check for these knobs on the back of your set and adjust until your picture is in as well as you can get it
Hello The vertical sweep section of your TV is faulty. It may be either to a loose solder points at somewhere in that section of to the fault with the vertical output IC. Check all the solder points on the vertical output section of your TV. It is best to resolder most of the suspected soldering points, by applying a little more solder, without making any solder bridge short in between adjecent solder terminals. If this does not help you, replace the vertical output IC with same type and number. OK.
hi there, seems you're encountering horizontal width suddenly adjusted by itself.
i recommend you unscrew the back casing, clean the crt board a bit and look for the capacitor on the secondary output of the transformer voltage chopper.
it has this diode series with the output and filtered with electrolytic capacitor.
if you notice bulgy appearance replace it with same type and farrad rate. most of the times it is unnoticeable by just physical checking. Some are leaky and can be determined using capacitance tester. The supply of the Vertical IC is not stable cause by this capacitor. replacing most of the capacitor wouldn't cost you much. hope this helps, please rate and vote
Hi, You have to open back cover of TV and use the screw driver to adjust horizontal, vertical, degaussing etc. on back side of tube ( cicuit board). Please make adjustment gradually and find the settings on your TV.
Good luck, jay
Look through your manual. Your manual will always give you the most specific directions for your particular model. Look for an "adjusting convergence" or "set manual convergence" section.
Enter the menu on your TV. Use the remote control and bring up the menu.
Choose "Convergence." This may be under "Picture Settings," "Function" or "Advanced Options."
Select a color. You will have red, green and blue to choose from. Do each one, starting with red.
Press "Enter." A crosshair pattern will appear on your screen.
Adjust vertically. If there is a horizontal red line visible, press the up or down arrow keys (or channel up or down) to adjust the convergence until the line is superimposed on the horizontal-center line of the white crosshair.
Adjust horizontally. If there is a vertical red line visible, press left or right (or volume up or down) to adjust horizontally. Do this until the line is superimposed on the vertical line of the white crosshair.
Save settings. It is important to save your settings when you are done, instead of simply exiting the menu.
There is a sevice menu but it is something a repair man has to adjust. Even to get to that menu is a matter of procedure. If the picture is not always squeezed down then adjustment is not the problem. If it is intermitant it could be a bad solder connection on the main board.Sometimes a bad vertical ic and leakey capacitors can be the problem..
Bottom line is there is not much you can do to correct the problem. You are going to need a service man
