Vacuum doesn't work when main attachment is on....

I bought my vacuum in April and it worked fine until about a month ago. The vacuum only turns on when I lay it down flat. When I lift up the handle, it shuts off. I took it to a Hoover repair shop and they said it was the hose so they put in a new one. I brought it home and it's still the same. I am thinking something is wrong with the wiring? Is it a problem that can be fixed or do I need a new vacuum?

S3765-040, power head would not run when the handle was elevated. Problem was with wiring from connecter plug on power head swivel into the power head itself, because of the design the wire tends to develop a short. Test it by turning on the vacuum, elevate the handle, then when it stops running move the visible part of the wiring with you foot/hand. If it starts/stops then you have a short. Replacement part was about $10.

My vacuum isn't cleaning/suctioning very well. The hose attachment will work and pick up debris but the main part of the vacuum (where the brush is) doesn't pick up. The brush only spins but there...

Check to see if the brush is turning when you have the vac on and the handel down 'of course keep your hands from that area when doing this ,you might have to lean the vac ,to see the resaults.

NO SUCTION COMING FROM BOTTOM OF VACUUM

even though the belt isnt broken you should replace it also make sure the height is raised up on the nozzle. try dropping a marble through the hose to double check there is nothing stuck ( the attachment hose and the small hose that runs to the floor )

Re-attaching the vacuum

With the nozzle off, turn the big knob until it locks, (will only turn one way) also make sure the belt is in the center, then turn the knob, put the nozzle back on and lock it down. Then turn the knob again and then the belt will be put on the spindle. Next time, before removing the nozzle, turn thast knob until it locks, then remove it, then it will be ready when you want to put it back on.

Eureka Boss - no suction in upright postion

when mine does that I find that the hose is not connected properly where it comes off to use the attachments.
If there is suction there, it is a straight shot to the floor unless it is loose where it fits together.
